not very impressive to be honest. Raw products. I think our government needs to implement a law that prohibits importing unnecessary high tech gadgets. :( Though I know it's wrong.

What we import from China.

So you want more taxes, that's how they prevent unnecessary stuff.

I know what you are saying, but how has China been able to limit imports. It must be some kind of government policy. If they're able to influence their own internal market that way without passing laws, then that's impressive.

China is different from other nations. They still have communism and they can force their people to behave in a certain way. For a smaller and democratic country like Turkey we have a more limited set of policy tools.

It should be possible somehow, e.g. limit credits to companies that don't perform well. Or uncreasing auditing etc. On companies that import too much and such.

Anyway. I was kinda hoping that a railway connecting Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to Tajikistan and such. I know the small sliver of Afghanistan is the pass that is very harsh and difficult to pass during winter, but there are still turks living there.

I would have loved to have the rail go through Afghanistan, but I am not sure that Taliban would leave it alone.
There is a small rail link between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan completed in 2019 which is just 10 km. As CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor) is now in phase 2 which also includes railway network, which will be extended to Afghanistan, In north from Peshawar city to Jalalabad Afghanistan passing Khyber pass and in south from Quetta city to Kandahar.
Some 7 billion dollars were allocated and if required will be increased to 11 billion. Some construction activity is going on but due to covid and increasing political instability things are too slow. If all is well and done may be till 2024 the northern route would be complete.
Taliban's are not barbaric savages.

A restriction of import, depend on import - export ratio. Lets say 20% of export. For example, if you export for 100 $, you can import for 120$ value max .

I’d say less, as we want a trade balance in our favour
