Brexit fucked over UK's economy so much that I don't expect them to fuck us over either. They need partners and defence contracts usually create long term ties.
Besides, it's UK, they have to counteract the French influence over Europe and Italians and Spanish has to do to same for Mediterranean . France is pushing things with Greece and Southern Cyprus, (even fucked over Ukraine by vetoing ammo purchase from us, remember that?) and supporting Haftar in Libya, others can't allow that and we are the best asset to help them.

This is absolutely horrible deal but it is what it is . I would say it will be at least 18bn for 44 aircraft. Probably not much of weapons either.
5, 6 bn of pounds for 20 planes and weapons? I don't think that many weapons and engines come with that. This is probably worse deal then 21bn$ for 40 F16s and 40 kits
At least, Americans offered plenty of the weapons but probably no integration of Turkish weather. I think, Typhoons won't have Turkish weapons either . Obviously, training and maintenance for the new type is understandable.
I hope at least that for initial training, Brits will give their airframes , 2.6 bn £ for support and training?????

UK and Germany were sworn enemies during two world wars and now they are co producing EF Typhoon
First of all, this is high tech fighter jet which includes nuemerous criteria to purchase them.
Money somehow is not on the top of the concern or negotiation items list.
We would be ok to pay 23 billion USD to vipers.
Even if we want to pay 40 billlion USD for f35's. USD is not selling.
Once you are in dire need of fighter jets, once it s a high end fighter jet not available on the bazaar, once your allies! are not willing to sell theirs to you, once your fighter jet wont be completely ready before 10 years, once you need to renew your aging fleet, once the package includes purchasing already sold fighters, once the package includes upgrading the seocnd had ones, once the package includes lots of munitions, once the package includes, training, logistics, many more, once the package includes integration of your own munitions (maybe), once there is an option to buy extra 20 maybe with T5 package, it seems fine to me.

Tusas, after such a long break, at their own admission, had lost most of their engineering staff and expertise that they had accumulated during F16 project.
They needed new blood and experts to include in the team that was to develop KAAN.
If Tusas went on the international job market and tried to recruit engineers, they would have found little or no interest and those that applied would have asked for astronomical wages. BAE name was used for recruitment. BAE Systems found the people and Tusas interviewed them before giving them employment.
It is in basic human nature to resent newcomers especially if they are getting paid more than themselves. Some of these new people were being paid more than the managers they were serving under.
There were a good number of technicians probably not suited for the specific job positions they occupied. But they were people important to BAE to keep for BAE’s own future programs.
Nevertheless around 300 technicians and engineers were employed who were ex BAE. But many more were recruited thanks to BAE.
UK needed a successful cooperation between Türkiye and UK. They opened all gates and removed all stops for the aerospace industry.
They had just left EU. They needed a back door open in to EU. We have open trade agreements with EU. Third party goods can come to Türkiye and change form in to “made in Turkey” and find it’s way in to EU.
Even now UK doesn’t have the access in to EU markets that we enjoy.
UK may not like the policies of our administration and at times may be at loggerheads with us. But they will not jeopardise our ongoing trade and defence industry commitments. Especially now that Putin is threatening all Europeans.

The size of the contract may indirectly indicate a very large-scale infrastructure investment. I believe that line and base maintenance levels are already indispensable requirements for the air force. However, if there are plans to supply additional fighters in future packages, I do not rule out the possibility that heavy maintenance processes may also be carried out by the air force after a certain period. Another issue is system integration and, in particular, the localization of weapon systems.
I would very much like to hear news about the integration of domestically produced weapon systems. Especially for air-to-air and air-to-ground standoff missile groups.

They have to sell us something, if they don't it forces Turkiye to look to Russia, China etc. From my perspective the NATO side of the story always does the bare minimum for us. Basically just enough to keep us on side but never enough to truly help us with our regional problems.
This is how they are able to play a double game. Support our enemies, support terrorism against us, promote the agenda in their media and internationalise a domestic issue to the detriment of Turkiye.
So basically they do just enough to make sure they get the best outcome concerning Turkiye. As far as were concerned "beggars cannot be choosers". Going towards Russia, China is no good for us, USA, Europe is the lessor devil but its not great either.
So here we are, dumped out the F35 predictably so. Delayed by many years concerning fighter jet procurement and now were buying from the English and you hope if tomorrow you need to act in syria, the east med, cyprus or anywhere really that they don't pull an american on you. And the British are globally known for their games.
There was a recent boris johnson internview where he's talking about how the British sold the shah of iran billions of dollars worth of british tanks. This was when the british were plotting the coup against his government. They took the money, the coup occurred and the tanks never arrived in Iran. He's laughing as he's saying these things.
