Then even dropped their used external tanks over Turkey on the way back, it was a political crisis at the time.

"Immediately following the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert called Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, explained the situation, and asked him to relay a message to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad that Israel would not tolerate another nuclear plant, but that no further action was planned. Olmert said that Israel did not want to play up the incident and was still interested in peace with Syria, adding that if Assad chose not to draw attention to the incident, he would do likewise.

On 28 October, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told the Israeli cabinet that he had apologized to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan if Israel violated Turkish airspace. In a statement released to the press after the meeting he said: "In my conversation with the Turkish prime minister, I told him that if Israeli planes indeed penetrated Turkish airspace, then there was no intention thereby, either in advance or in any case, to—in any way—violate or undermine Turkish sovereignty, which we respect".

On 10 October 2007, The New York Times reported that the Israelis had shared the Syrian strike dossier with Turkey. In turn, the Turks traveled to Damascus and confronted the Syrians with the dossier, alleging a nuclear program. Syria denied this with vigor, saying that the target was a storage depot for strategic missiles."

I imagine it's because the Turkish government didn't want to run afoul with the U.S government especially in 2007 when the Bush government was much more inclined to military action in the Middle East. It's was preferable for Turkey to be more restrained to avoid open confrontation especially considering how wide the tech gap was in 2007 which isn't the case now.

It’s not because of the nukes. Russia has many more nukes than Israel, and you shot down their jet.

It’s about the combined diplomatic and military power of Israel that makes it basically untauchable. Israel has the full baking of the USA like no other country does. Also, they have the capabilities to inflict serious damage on any regional power, while having the strongest possible security guarantee from the US.

If a country challenges Israel, it is guaranteed to suffer much more damage than what it inflicts to Israel, so it is simply a very unwise thing to do. Look how far this confrontational behavior has brought Iran, Syria or Lebanon. All countries challenging Israel are completely underdeveloped and underpowerd compared to their potential.

Hello.

"It's been 3 weeks since a fatwa from "Muslim scholars" calling all Muslims to jihad was published on a website in Ireland (!)!
I first came across this "holy call" on an Armenian (!) website. I assume that the Greeks and other "friends" of Muslims were also actively spreading this "holy call addressed to all Muslims of the world".
But then a priest from Egypt came forward and announced a cancellation. So he called off the war.
Who are these scholars? Do they have the right to issue a fatwa?
Since when does an Egyptian scholar have the right to cancel it?»

P.S. This post was written before you came to the forum. I have difficulty with English, let alone Egyptian :)
So let me forward it to you without changes.

I didn't study theology in school nor do I claim to have the religious expertise to be a Mufti so feel free to correct me. But there are hundreds of Fatwas with varying degrees of legitimacy and adherence.

A scholarly group of Islamic scholars can Issue a Fatwa calling for Jihad against Israel but considering the significant suppression of Islamism in the Arab world and various militant groups, I seriously doubt it will have any notable effectiveness for your average Muslim and Palestine as a whole.

Nation-states are the primary drivers of conventional warfare and most Arab leaders are dictators who don't care about Palestinians. The Grand Mufti of Egypt can refute such a Fatwa presumably under the guiding hand of Sisi as the handpicked leading religious scholar in the nation even though it has no theological basis in Islam.

The Evolution of Turkey’s ‘South Asia Policy’: Continuities and Ruptures in Outlook, Roles, Actors and Constraints

Ömer Aslan

A bit in the middle:

It was therefore PM Bülent Ecevit who felt closer to India than Pakistan and believed that Turkey’s military, economic, and political ties as constructed did not benefit Turkey. This supports the argument that individual leaders often play a decisive role in changing the course of a state’s foreign policy choices (Alden & Aran, 2017). As will be discussed later, this will not be the last time that PM Ecevit would try to change Turkey’s South Asia policy.

Under PM Ecevit, Turkey did not approach India out of economic or diplomatic motivations. Rather, Ecevit government seemed to have been inspired by India’s non-aligned position in world affairs. FM Gündüz Ökçün visited India in July 1978, seeking guest status for Turkey in the non-aligned movement (NAM). In a speech he made in India, Ökçün reportedly said Turkey ‘closely observes India’s role and the way in which the policy of non-alignment is implemented for the progress of all humanity.’ Ökçün said his government wanted to develop relations with India in line with its desire to create a zone of peace around Turkey (Access to Archival Databases, 1978).

US President Donald Trump:

“I just had a very good and productive telephone conversation with the President of Türkiye, Recep Erdoğan, concerning many subjects, including the War with Russia/Ukraine, all things Syria, Gaza, and more.

The President invited me to go to Türkiye at a future date and, likewise, he will be coming to Washington, D.C.
During my four years as President, my relationship with President Erdoğan was excellent.
We worked together closely on numerous things, including the fact that he helped return Pastor Andrew Brunson, who was imprisoned, back to the United States — Immediately upon my request.
In any event, I look forward to working with President Erdoğan on getting the ridiculous, but deadly, War between Russia and Ukraine ended — NOW!” Trump wrote on Truth social media.

For the first time in NATO history, a Turkish general has been selected for a critical mission.

Brigadier General Eray Üngüder will represent Türkiye at the Director level at the International Military Headquarters in Brussels.

TRUMP'S NEW STATEMENT: I MAY GO TO ISTANBUL ON FRIDAY

Trump, who went to Qatar after Saudi Arabia as part of his Middle East tour and made a statement to reporters there, said he could go to Istanbul tomorrow Friday, not today. Trump said, "I couldn't go to Istanbul. We have a lot of work to do today and tomorrow. However, if the right situation arises, I can go on Friday. I hope Russia and Ukraine can come to an agreement somehow. The war must stop."

Trump responded to a reporter's statement that "Putin is not there (in Istanbul)" by saying, "I said 'If I don't go, Putin won't come' and I was right."

Trump is always right :)

The Era of Uncontested U.S. Dominance Is Over

Vice President J.D. Vense: - "The United States was a superpower without equal for a short time after the collapse of the Soviet Union... Today, we face serious threats from China, Russia, and other countries determined to surpass us...
The Era of Uncontested U.S. Dominance Is Over"
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I realize this is not modest, but I would like to give Vense some advice on what to do to make America great again.
1. transform the Department of Education into a Department of Religion (all congressmen and senators should draw a cross on their foreheads, like Marco Rubio);
2. close all universities (especially Harvard)
3. join Russia in bombing Ukraine.

That's it. That's how America will be great again! 🤣

I would truly close Department of education and close meny universities.
I wouldn't let more than 20% of the teachers to be female.
I am aware, through my experience, how all of it works. Also, I would close a great deal of so called research. Something else instead of that must be put in place .

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan went to the city of Lachin in Azerbaijan by private jet "TUR" to celebrate Azerbaijan Independence Day.

"The second meeting of the Turkey-Azerbaijan-Pakistan Trilateral Summit will be held today. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Turkish President and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif will also attend the opening ceremony of Lachin International Airport."

And it's crazy how many of the same names with the same connections reappear here

effectively creating a corroborating loop for shit that from afar seems like looney stuff to unsuspecting people.

Must read 3 books.

P.S. The writer of the first book Whitney Webb has turned into a bigger and bigger nutjob as she has went on (just like Sibel Edmonds did), but the book has a lot of documentation and you can also check many of the connections for yourself. It's not hard to separate the wheat from the chaff in terms of what has evidence and what is speculative. And specially, I wanted to mention this because these three books corroborate each other without the writers knowing about each other or writing about the exact same stuff.

P.S. Oh and how could I forget, the two other books that form the other nodes of the same network:

Turks in Germany have to pay every month for this sh*t (Public broadcasting license fee 18,36 €), so german national TV can make terrorist propaganda.

Erdogan’s War Against the Kurds – On the Road with German Aid Workers in Northern Syria
Episode 66

As the ARD team enters a completely destroyed house in northern Syria, the sound of drones can be heard overhead. Kurdish residents report that they are being continuously bombed and shelled from Turkey—even their water and power substations, as well as a dam, are said to be targets of Turkish attacks. Are these just Kurdish propaganda tales, or is there evidence to support these claims? The documentary investigates the allegations on site.

As the ARD team enters a completely destroyed house in northern Syria, the sound of drones can be heard overhead. A nine-member Kurdish family was killed here in mid-March by a drone. Relatives claim it was a combat drone from Turkey. ARD correspondent Matthias Ebert wants to find out if that’s true and searches for evidence.

He accompanies German doctor Michael Wilk through northeastern Syria and repeatedly experiences drone strikes and militia shelling. Observers say the targets of these attacks are water facilities, power substations, and even a dam in the oil-rich region. The Kurds believe that NATO member Turkey is behind the attacks. Are these just Kurdish propaganda tales, or is there evidence to support them? The documentary investigates the allegations on site.

The film also analyzes what Erdogan’s fight against the Kurds could mean for Germany and Europe: What happens if the Islamists regain the upper hand? And how could Germany prevent that?

(Text: ARD)
German TV Premiere: Wed. 04 June 2025 on Das Erste

I wonder if they will do one episode in Palestine too. (Can't find it in english)
