Just look at the current difficulties between France and Germany regarding the sixth-generation fighter project.

France is definitely capable of developing it on it’s own. I highly think that this is what will happen. Basically a Rafale 2.0. Let’s wait and see.

Possible, but funding for this project remains an issue for now. Thats why they needed the Germans as far as Im aware. And the Germans had the money but not the tech.

None of these countries are truly self-sufficient. Just look at the current difficulties between France and Germany regarding the sixth-generation fighter project. All of the countries mentioned rely on cooperation to varying degrees. There are plenty of examples, including Japan, which has increasingly pursued international partnerships in defense technology. And they certainly don’t do this out of affection for one another, but because the complexity, costs, and strategic risks of modern defense projects make cooperation unavoidable.


A good illustration of this is the GCAP (Global Combat Air Programme) involving the UK, Italy, and Japan. Similarly, South Korea has worked closely with the US and other partners in the development of advanced systems, while France, despite its ambitions for strategic autonomy, often depends on European partners for large-scale projects. The UK has also historically shared development and production responsibilities with allies, from joint missile systems with France to aircraft cooperation with the US.


As for Taiwan—how could it possibly be considered self-sufficient? While it does produce certain defense systems domestically, such as missiles and naval platforms, it remains heavily dependent on the United States for advanced fighter aircraft, missile defense systems, and critical technologies. Without external support, Taiwan would not be able to maintain a credible defense posture against the threats it faces.

Absolutely wrong comparison. Countries like Japan or Germany are self-sufficient, if they really wants them. But they are more interested in cooperation in the spirit of European Union and of course of some financial benefits. Maybe some other countries have some better military stuffs, but good enough for self-sufficiency.

They only lack on row materials.

Brute force is what keeps the plane flying at such a high bank angle, as the wings create little lift against gravity speed saves the day by multiplying what little lift there is. You can see how the plane shoots up due to high speed. Doing this close to ground is not forgiving either. So it is a high risk stunt as a show of trust to the plane's abilities. Don't try at home.

An overdue update on Hürjet prospects

What is your source for US Hürjet possibility? Poland already operates KAI T-50, why would they buy Hürjet, has there been any news about that? Italy has M346 and ordered new ones just a year ago. Colombia and Brazil was quoted as interested in M346 nothing about Hürjet (but possible I guess), Peru recently ordered Gripen. Algeria operates Russian aircraft and has Russian made trainers, they got some deliveries either earlier this year or last year.
