I will sleep better when I know production and deliveries are being done to TSK

Brute force is what keeps the plane flying at such a high bank angle, as the wings create little lift against gravity speed saves the day by multiplying what little lift there is. You can see how the plane shoots up due to high speed. Doing this close to ground is not forgiving either. So it is a high risk stunt as a show of trust to the plane's abilities. Don't try at home.

An overdue update on Hürjet prospects

View attachment 77708
What is your source for US Hürjet possibility? Poland already operates KAI T-50, why would they buy Hürjet, has there been any news about that? Italy has M346 and ordered new ones just a year ago. Colombia and Brazil was quoted as interested in M346 nothing about Hürjet (but possible I guess), Peru recently ordered Gripen. Algeria operates Russian aircraft and has Russian made trainers, they got some deliveries either earlier this year or last year.

US has the supersonic T-7 on order. Why would it have any interest in Hurjet?

Brazil has a funding problem and is now acutely short of military jets. I hear that FAB has 10 Gripen E, 3 operational AMX and about a dozen operational F-5. Because of the funding problem it looked at cheaper aircraft than Gripen E, in particular used F-16 but without success. It may be interested in HAL Tejas Mk1A (if HAL can deliver). I have seen no reference in Brazilian media to FAB being interested in Hurjet.

T7 RedHawks, initially designed to be supersonic (1.3 Mach). But now slated as a 0.975 Mach subsonic trainer.
It has a GEF404 engine on it to carry it to supersonic speeds. But it still has not yet materialised as one.
It may have something to do with high g training it is supposed to give??

The T-7A is a trainer, not a fighter. Its primary purpose is to prepare pilots for modern fighter jets, and its design prioritizes advanced avionics, simulators, and high-G maneuverability over raw speed.

Believe it if you will!!

It looks like too many technical issues about sources supplying parts and technical problems being encountered in avionics and ejection seat etc etc.

Too many cooks spoil the broth.

Both Saab and Boeing trying to put their stamp on it causing delays??? . IOC not expected until post 2027.

I find it surprising that Tejas Mk1A is reported to be capable of mach 1.8. Gripen C mach 2.0 yet T-7 only mach 0.975 since they all use variants of the F404 engine. All numbers from Wiki. I have read that Gripen has particularly good aerodynamics but T-7 p/w ratio and aerodynamics limiting it to subsonic speed? I don't see it. No specialist me but perhaps supersonic drag is so high with T-7 that a mach 1+ speed was abandoned for training purposes.

A fighter jet is as good as the airframe design it has. Gripen airframe is really good. Akaer of Brazil has been quite instrumental and key partner in the design of Gripen.
They were also involved in Hürjet’s airframe.

Engine is important. But the supersonic flight, especially as the plane transitions from subsonic to low supersonic, introduces such forces and shock waves on the airframe that a good and forgiving design is a must. Otherwise a powerful engine will cause imbalance, excessive drag, loss of control and may result in catastrophic structural failure.

This is pretty sure impressive. 45 for Spain, but I wonder if we can get the engines.
For Spain, no problem.
Even, for us shouldn’t be a big problem though since they’re just training aircraft.

Maybe it's time for me to sign up for twitter so I can check those too but no thanks, I'm happy with my social media-free life 😃
