What happens when the Wolf-warrior diplomats are met with internet smartcats on an inventive renaming spree? In a notorious development earlier, China with a move to instigate India had renamed 15 places in Arunachal Pradesh. What followed was a strong rebuttal from the MEA stating that assigning new ‘standardised’ names would not alter the fact that Arunachal Pradesh belongs to India.

But when this news broke out to Indian twitter, Indians did what they do the best – giving it back equal force! It all started when a Twitter user named Harpreet (@CestMoiz) tagged a tweet informing China’s move while assigning Indian equivalents to cities in China – currently under Communist occupation. Instantly, Beijing became ‘Bhujang Nagar’, Tibetian capital Lahsa became ‘Laxmangarh’ and Guangzhou opened up as ‘Ghanta Ghar’!

'Our Desire For Peace Shouldn't Be Mistaken Otherwise': Army Chief

The Indian Army stands firm to counter any attempt to unilaterally change the status quo along the country's borders and India's desire for peace is born out of strength and should not be mistaken otherwise, Army Chief General MM Naravane said on Friday.

The army chief also said that differences in perceptions and disputes are best resolved through established norms based on the principle of equal and mutual security.

The armies of India and China are locked in a military standoff in eastern Ladakh since May 5, 2020, after a violent clash erupted in the Pangong lake area.

The teenager, identified as Miram Taron, was kidnapped by the PLA from the Lungta Jor area on Tuesday, Mr Gao said.

Taron's friend Johny Yaiying, who managed to escape, informed the authorities about the kidnapping by the PLA, Mr Gao told news agency PTI over the phone from Ziro, the district headquarters of Lower Subansiri district.
