The navy has been guilty of this sh*t all the time, for example Clurit class, consisting of 8 vessel has 4 different main gun, Sampari class, FPB-57 class has 2 different main gun
Why they didnot ask for one/simplified type?

Could be lot of things actually, buying in piece meal culture (budaya ngeteng), in FFBNW state for too long (some intended/planned equipment already out of production), requirement/selection based on when and how much the budget is instead of proper budget planning based on their intended roles from the start of the project and also the usual change in command = change in commitment problem. Not to mention "titipan pejabat" factor on top of that.

Contract already signed in February 2022. What else you expect then??
Aren't those only for the first 6 ?

The contract signed today is for the first six, which will be followed by 36 others," said Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto.

This is the answer i got from my questions to one of PT PAL official:

- This is not the final design. The length would be 140 meter.
- All VLS module at the bow will be moved to the center of the super structure just like the original Iver Huitfeldt
- CMS will be from Havelsan
- AShM will be Brahmos
- SAM will be Aster (but still need the greenlight from MBDA)
- Radars still to be determine
Is this advant CMS equivalent to the Thales's?

Indo Defence 2022: Indonesian Army orders new class of fast interdiction craft

by Ridzwan Rahmat

A model of the new fast interceptor craft that has been ordered for the Indonesian Army on display at Indo Defence 2022. (Janes/Ridzwan Rahmat)

The Indonesian Army has placed an order for a new type of waterjet-propelled fast interdiction craft (FIC) with private shipbuilder PT Tesco Indomaritim (Tesco).

Speaking to Janes at the Indo Defence 2022 exhibition in Jakarta, Tesco's irector for efence and overnment ales Jasni Basuki , confirmed that a contract for the vessel was signed with the Indonesian government in 2021.

The FIC has been designed for rapid infiltration missions and will complement the Indonesian Army's existing fleet of KMC Komando fast assault craft, which were also built by Tesco and delivered to the service from 2014 onwards.

The new vessel has an overall length of 24 m and displaces about 55 tonne. It is powered by two MTU M86 engines driving two Hamilton HTX52 waterjets and can attain top speeds in excess of 50 kt and an economic cruising speed of 27 kt.

The vessel can accommodate five crew members and 31 fully armed personnel. The vessel has been designed with a slipway at its stern, which can be utilised to launch rigid hull inflatable boats (RHIBS) or jet skis.

In terms of weapons, the FIC can be equipped with a remotecontrolled weapon station (RCWS) that incorporates either a 12.7 mm or 7.62 machine gun. Considerations have been made within the vessel for a weapon operator station.

The FIC was launched on 1 November 2022 and Tesco expects to deliver the vessel to the Indonesian Army before the end of the year.

Seems the Army like to put business order with PT TESCO
