There are some here (among us) who wish to portray Indonesia as always backward & corrupted in compare to the more superior western custom & culture. It doesn't matter to them what & how we do something or how well things had gone. I'm not saying that gov't procurement process is already good, but it's certainly significant improvement compare to decade ago

Optional orders does not require an additional contract if i am not mistaken, that is why they are signed within the same contract as 'optional' to reduce paper work and price estimation etc.

So if the latter 36 is 'optional' then it will be effective once Indonesia demands realization of the contract.

No, it doesn't need additional contract, only instalment of payment

Indonesian Air Force still operated at least between 28-30 Hawk 109/209 aircraft

It would be reasonable to convert them into dedicated ground attack light fighter/bomber after Air Force heavy hitter like Rafale and F15 EX came online

Just retire them completely along with the Sukhoi fleet. If we need light attack, we can always use Super Tucano. Anything heavier can go to the F-16 or Rafale

But you’re not really far off as the Mameluke form goes way beyond to Persian Simshir and was widely used by Ottomans as well in different forms.
Turkish delegation seems to present these to Indonesian dignitaries (one had been presented to Indonesian Minister of Defense couple days ago).
I personally think it is a more befitting gift for a soldier and this time Turks got it right

The blade profile suggest that the sword is design to be use by infantry (dismounted). In what role the sword is originally used for?

BTW, Am I the only one here who notice that Pindad has made another experimental blunder with their 7.62mm x 35mm . The US Army has already adopted the .277 SIG Fury to replace both 5.56mm NATO & 7.62mm NATO thus having a single common cartridge that serve the role of previously 2 type of cartridge. It's just a matter of time before the entire NATO members adopt the same cartridge

The KNG-C5 is the newest member of the family and was developed based on the experience of the Turkish Army's standard infantry rifle, the MPT-76. Its first user will be Indonesia, so this rifle is also new to us.

If someone pulls the right strings Indonesia could even be the 3rd production center for TB2 to supply the regional demand. (After Ukraine, where a facility is being established for their own needs).

Same applies for Anka. TAI recently agreed for local production in Kazakhstan and likely looking another production facility in asia for Anka - Aksungur, that would be either malaysia or indonesia.

Think bigger, act bigger, TR can not meet the demand on UAVs now and needs a reliable partner to take off the load in manufacturing parts, and even doing the assemblies.

The CEO of PT PAL Indonesia, Mr. Kaharuddin Djenod, signed an MoU with Diehl Defense, represented by Helmut Rauch as the CEO of the German company. The development of unmanned submarines is the answer to the needs of maritime defense, especially underwater defense.

The development of the design and development plan for the autonomous submarine itself is currently underway at PT PAL Indonesia.

In its production, the Autonomous Submarine is planned to have a higher domestic component level (TKDN) than other warship products. Autonomous submarines are not owned by many developed countries.

Lundin Reveals X-33 Light Strike Boat / USV combo​

PT Lundin revealed its newest product the X-33 Light Strike Boat and Unmanned Surface Vessel at the ongoing Indo Defence 2022 show.

The Indonesian privately-owned shipyard is highlighting the X-33 which was based on the requirements from the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) for a fast strike boat armed with anti-ship missiles. The requirements also call for the ability to fit multiple boats inside the well deck of the Makassar-class LPDs of the Indonesian Navy.

Armed with a pair of Naval Strike Missiles (NSMs), the boat is powered by two 2,000 HP diesel engines driving a pair of waterjets. It can reach a maximum speed of 50 knots, a cruise speed of up to 30 knots, and a range of 990 km with 9 knots cruising speed.

PT Lundin expects that the first prototype of the boat is expected to be launched in the next 18 months.
