“We will give it to the Indonesian army for the first time. The second contract is about layered air defense. The condition of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense is different in this regard. We are developing a new model with our international business partners in this regard.”
Extra requirement: interoperability with other systems?

The extent of Indonesian medium altitude missiles has not yet been announced for layered air defense program but Roketsan has two very effective options. Both Hisar-O+ IIR and Hisar-O+ Rf missiles can be fired from the same launchers and share lots of common technologies. Thanks to the passive sensor of the IIR seeker, IIR missile can be used effectively against advanced targets in heavy jamming environment while approaching its target in passive mode in terminal phase. The RF missile, on the other hand, can engage in long ranges in all weather conditions. Both missiles have TVC, dual pulse rocket motor technologies. The use of both in the same battery according to necessity of situation will help to create an effective air defense umbrella at medium altitude.

Can air defense systems go to radar change/diversity so easily ? As a result, parameters such as target illumination, range and resolution affect the target hit state of the missiles.

Why using that radar? Why not use the original config with Turkish radar.
I found this in Facebook
(Details of the shape and configuration of the ADS-400 Trident MR-LR SAM for the Indonesian Air Force

One ADS-400 battery consists of:
- 1 C4 Raccos
- 1 surveillance radar RL-3DL(Instrumented range 470km) halal version of the EL/M-2084 Multi Mission Radar (F-MMR)
- 1 firing radar RL-3DM(Instrumented range 200km) Halal version of EL/M-2084 Multi Mission Radar (M-MMR)
- 2 launcher vehicles Tatra 8x8
- 1 reload vehicle Tatra 8x8
- 1 power unit and support vehicle

Revision of the distance specs of the missiles used
MR-SAM : Hisar O (range 25km)
LR-SAM: Hisar U (range 70km)

*The ELM-2084 or EL/M-2084 designed and manufactured by IAI (Israel Aerospace Industries) ELTA is an advanced three-dimensional, S-Band radar, incorporating modular and scalable architecture. It is used with the SPYDER-MR, Iron Dome, Arrow 3 and David's Sling air defense system
* So it's clear why for this first batch we don't take SIPER, because currently SIPER is still under development and we take a system that is already mature, namely a system solution from Retia who is Elta's representative for the Czech Republic.
The conclusion now is that it is right if we take a system that is more proven because the radar that we use is also used by SPYDER-MR and Iron Dome which are already battle proven.)

I don't think that HISAR will be using Israel radar system, maybe for data link? This is something that no country in the world will give source code of strategic weapon away.

Could Retia be the partner who is supporting indigenous GCI radar project? That would only make sense this way.

Hisar-U = Siper Block-0 Now. And Hisar-O+ reported to be 30-35km+

For Hisar-O the data-link is one way and could be provided by Roketsan (by Aselsan). They would need to integrate data-link transmitter, and the C&C unit will need to pass target information. In my opinion, that can be changed by altering encryption and does not require sharing of source codes.

For Siper Block-0 and Block-1, i don't know how that is going to work especially if they want to implement APAR guidance and two way data link.

J-Forces showcases new ILSV products at Indo Defense 2022

ILSV-J-FORCES-_-AIRSPACE-REVIEW-e1667743312743-567x402.jpg

PT Jala Berikat Nusantara Perkasa, a national private defense company better known as the J-Forces brand, presented a number of new tactical/combat vehicle prototypes at the Indo Defense 2022 exhibition at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta on November 2-5.

The prototype vehicles include the ILSV Brigade 45 APC, ILSV LRAD (Long Range Acoustic Device), ILSV VVIP 4.5 Special Vehicle, and several others.

"All that are exhibited here are all prototypes that have not been produced, waiting for orders," said Rifky Desvianto, the marketing department.

Currently, while producing ILSV, J-Forces is also starting to explore the manufacture of RCWS (Remote Controlled Weapon Systems).

J-Forces cooperates with a company from Spain for technology transfer.

This RCWS has been presented to the Indonesian Army and is planned to be used.

Hisar-O+ IIR has a range of 35+km. Hisar-Rf has even longer range. Hisar-U (Siper Block-0) - (75km) most likely used as a technological step to reach the actual target (Siper Block-1) and Siper block-1 destroyed high speed target drone at a range around 95km in trials. The final Siper block-1 which is going to be delivered to Turkish Army in 2023 will have a range of 100km. Siper Block-2 will have a range of 150km (2024)

In this context, I think that Siper variant that Indonesia purchased will be Siper Block-1.

In an environment where serious collaborations regarding naval systems are made with Indonesia, it is useful to examine I-class frigate, which will be delivered in 2023 together with many naval domestic sensors and missile systems that may attract the attention of Indonesia for Indonesian warship program.

  • Genesis Advent, one of the most advanced CMS in World with approximately 550 applications and 13 million lines of code (Thx Ibrahim Sunnetçi)
  • Genesis Advent-Link which allows other communication protocols to communicate with Genesis Advent
  • Cenk-S AESA radar with 4000 GaN modules (~2x longer range than Thales Smart-S Mk2)
  • Ares-2N and Ares-2NC Electronic attack and support sensors
  • Akrep-D1/2 Fire control radar developed by Aselsan
  • Alper LPI navigation radar developed by Aselsan
  • KULAÇ eco-sounder, Milpars electromagnetic log system developed by Aselsan
  • Underwater telephone developed by tubitak Bilgem and produced by Koç Savunma
  • MIDAS-VLS 16 cell (Hisar-Rf quad pack and Siper-Naval quad pack missiles)
  • 16x Atmaca Block-1 SSM (250+km)
  • Gokdeniz CIWS (Levent with Sungur+ missiles- 4 interferometer Rf antenne + IIR seeker- is under development)
  • 76mm MKE main gun
  • 324mm twin light weight torpedo tubes from Aselsan ( to fire Orka torpedos developed by Roketsan)
  • Fersah hull mounted active/passive sonar developed by Aselsan
  • Hizir torpedo defence system containing DUFAS low frequency active and passive sonars
  • 3x PIRI KATS IRST dual band LW/MW developed by Aselsan (Each has 120 degree coverage and able to track 150 targets simultaneously)
  • 2x 25mm STOP stabilized gun from Aselsan
Is it possible to add 16 more VLS to the deck? Seems like its some more space there. 32 VLS, including 16 atmaca anti-ship missiles would make it in its own class of frigates under 5 000 displacements.

It doesn't seems to have more space for extra 16 vls.

16 more MIDAS doesn't fit in the I class but I am evaluating that there will be 32 or more MIDAS VLS in the next generation frigate project which is planned to be commissioned in the medium term to replace likely Barbaros-MLU and find a place between I class (3000t) and Tf2000(8000t).

Yes, I remember that someone posted that turkey would have a midgap solution of around 5 500 tons between the I class, and TF-2000. Perhaps the solution could be something similar to the FREMM frigate. 32 air defense VLS, and 16 vls for Gezgin missile :)

No, unless they signed a new agreement recently.

Its Thales actually that cooperate with LEN to produce GCI, although I am not sure if LEN have meaningful contribution or just assembling and slapping a new sticker on it.
