Is there any Indonesian member here that wish the F15ID deal won't materialized, because want F35 instead?

Me: hm.... tough choice.

Andi vs Connie, who's better between the two? I see that Andi tends to see things more from the defense industry side, probably because of his education in the NDU Industrial College. While Connie tends to see it from another side than the defense industry, mostly the "politics" side of it if you may.

I think they can complement each other, we shouldn't necessarily put one over the other as they both have their own specialty. Considering the input from both needs critical evaluation for sure.

Damn, I should become an analyst too someday, S2 here I come

Nah.

Considering the hype surrounding the F-35 and the reports of data breach during its development some time ago, both Russia and China already know what they'll go up against. Now I'm not suggesting that the F-35 will be a dud in an all-out conflict, but it's just seems to me that the potential adversary countries of the F-35 have never reacted in the same way like what it was when F-22 first entered service.

The refusal from the US to sell us F-35 might actually be a blessing in disguise for us, not only because of the price and operating cost, but because we really can't afford of having a weapon platform which supposedly top secret capabilities are already recognizes by its potential enemies.

War is deception, afterall.

To me, the entire system of network warfare must be setting up, no way we can survive the kind of modern warfare onslaught with the all electronic warfare attacks all alone. There is greater chance to survive by using the already developed system, and we are Piggy backing of such system as part of alliances. They already contracted the scytalis to develop our command control system. And i hope the hype can be going on continuously without interuption by any means.

Prabowo going all out with Western system, and even going far to procure and setting it up according NATO system standard. And almost all of his procurement projects reflected his understanding of common sense. What i don't like to see is when someone interupting the progress in disguise. The likes of UCAV Made in China is very disturbing pattern left by his predecessor and people in the decision circle. I hope we don't see such kind of incident again.

How about channel it to Turkish Friend

No way the current MoD giving a nod for such blasphemy. He rather sourcing it with much more expensive solution like Israel or Turkey Made ones or even lobbying USA directly.

But people around him or under him still giving such idea, and i know it clearly.

Yeah, as always. No matter who's in charge as the MoD, there will always be those with different interests and backings trying to put their products on our acquisition radar.

But this is still normal. What's not is when we already identified the most potential troublemaker in our own backyard in the near future but we're still buying hi-tech military stuffs from them. Now I'm just glad that the C-705 project has already sunk (or is it?), and that - given the choice - TNI-AU top brass has no qualms in procuring Israeli made drones.

Do they do mission often?
I never see any leak pic they do mission.
Even the Israeli one seems "keluar kandang" more often.

Then for the next gen fighter that we will get in the future what do you think we should get?

Order more KFX and upgrade the previous block 1?

Maybe also getting FCAS?

That's still in the future.... reserve the question for decades later.

Just focusing to get the number of legacy platform as soon as possible and as many as possible, prepare the funding for maintenance and repair, focusing to train the crew and pilots, focusing to increasing the security in the base, network system and so on.
