The US State Department has cleared Indonesia to purchase up to 36 Boeing F-15EXs under an estimated $13.9 billion deal, hours after Dassault Aviation announced it had awarded a contract from Indonesia to the supply of 42 Rafale fighters.

Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto had already confirmed the nation's interest in the F-15EX, as part of a major increase in defense spending planned for the coming decades.

Boeing was immediately delighted with the approval given by Congress.

"The F-15 would provide the Indonesian Air Force with advanced, operationally relevant capabilities, a robust supply base, future technology roadmap and industrial cooperation opportunities for Indonesian industry," Boeing said. "Following Congressional approval, we’ll be ready to support the U.S. and Indonesian governments to finalize this sale."

As far i can see all the video in youtube about Rafale and F-15ID is full of positive comment even when they already know the price tag.
