Since most of our new fighters projected to be arrived beyond 2026 (probably apart from the 6 Rafales), are we still thinking about getting interim solutions?

Also considering the fact that MoD wants to have 100 new fighters, as of now we have 66-78 (assuming 24-36 Eagle 2), surely it means we plan to have another batch of 24-36 new fighters.

this is crunch

What Singaporean think about this development?
Some of them won't like it, because it will affect their wet dream of invading Indonesia and establish greater Singapore.
Also they need the sense of superiority otherwise they can't sleep peacefully, if Indonesia keep getting stronger and stronger they won't be able to look down on us any more which is no fun for them.

Kalo kita mah santuy aja, kita kan the biggest invisible thing on earth.

What if the US gives another offer to add some desert falcon as a bonus to fill that gap?

Looks like I'm a bit late to the party :D
Only 7.5%? We were talking about 15% RMP for procurement using foreign loan before (I believe @Indos had the general numbers).

This is probably the case of SMI compromising with MoD.
I think this what @oldsodier was saying before, how the high RMP figure for most of the contract mandated by the MoF doesn't make sense.
Make sense?

36 Eagle 2 = $13.9 bil
42 Rafale = $8.1 bil.

Both are new platform.

The US jets should be much cheaper compare to the European products, or is it just a myth?
Bear in mind, the amount projected in the DSCA released is in the MAX end of the scale, as what FPXAllen is saying below. The same case happened with our AH-64E, and also recently with Finland's F-35 deal, where the DSCA value was $12.5 billion for 64 units and the actual deal that was signed for 64 units is valued at $9.4 billion. The same thing will likely happen when/if the F-15ID is signed.
I read about it somewhere that this 13.9 billion USD is the upper limit of the whole package. It probably can go lower after negotiation, although not by much. But even if it's not, considering that F-15ID is in the same class of what's being offered to Israel (F-15IA), I think it's still make sense somehow.

Of course, if we can negotiate to lower the price, then more power to it.

So if we're allowed to buy F-35, we could get so much F-35 at that price range complete with the new infrastructure? Damn, F-35 sure has become very cheap.

But maybe the operational cost will be higher than Rafale & Russian stuff?
Comparision between F-35 and F-15EX.

The right question is " when " we were allowed . Not if we would be allowed . F 15id is a test case from US side . The ball is on our courtyard right now ... Are we up to their standard ??
This is a very delicate , political sensitive and yet tough enough in economical capability question .

Maybe he felt betrayed by US. Just like someone who got betrayed by their lover 😂

His mood might bounce back quickly if he remember US didn't allow us to buy F-35, unlike SG who already bought it.

Any comment from other extremist on the latest developments?
He has been bragging about SG F-35.
