Similar thing with Pandur and perhaps Harimau? No news about when the mass-production phase will start

or has it?
MMWT (Kaplan /Harimau) serial production contract was signed in 2019, for 18 Tanks. FNSS has reported they were hoping a fast approval from Indonesian MoD and deliveries would be completed by 2021. 10 Tanks will be produced by FNSS, remaining 8 by Pindad, Pindad personnel has already been trained by FNSS during construction of prototypes, There will be a ToT for production of the 8 in Indonesia.
FNSS has completed development of MMWT and completed their part of contract with extensive ToT to Pindad. Project was financed jointly by FNSS-Pindad (ratios unknown) where both companies has joint IP rights; Pindad has set requirements to be met, chosen suitable turret for Indonesian Army and conducted tests in Indonesia (in collaboration with FNSS) during certification by Indonesian Army. With this property, it is first tank to be certified by Its user before entering serial production. Fully customized and optimized for Indonesia.

Reference for some parts of the text above, some other parts are my own information from some other personal sources.

However, i haven't heard any other deliveries except of the two prototypes which was handed over to Indonesian Army and later commissioned, following certification and qualification.

There are rumors regarding to a similar collaboration in ZAHA (Amphibious IFV) but;
firstly, because FNSS (Also Turkish SSB) has spent a considerable amount at development and certification of ZAHA already (Which Indonesia was earlier invited to project, yet ignored)

secondly, ZAHA is already completed and nearing serial production, unlike MMWT which has started as a joint project.

lastly, for mentioned reasons it will not be rational to expect IP rights to be delivered with extensive ToT, however from now on local (licensed) production in Indonesia and modifications on ZAHA according to Indonesia's need, might have remained on table.

additionally expecting a whole new joint project on Amphibious IFV project wouldn't make sense in some ways. Because an amphibious IFV already exist to be marketed, and earlier joint project MMWT(Kaplan) hasn't fruited as promised.

Indonesia MoD only provide request for funding in mid 2020 (the most earlier estimated time after signing the final contract in 2020), and you can expect delay in working phase as they need time to adjust supplier, production tools, training for worker who will involved in the project and so on that's including calculation of Covid19 effect into internasional business trips and availability of supply chain. My best bet they will only delivered the tanks in 2022 or 2023.

They are important indeed for the HQ element, Forward Base, or the local folks.

What method they use for water treatment? Do they use ultrafiltration (virus grade), or Reverse Osmosis? Although for that platform size one do expect Reverse Osmosis to be in use, if they only use ultrafiltration, or worse micro filtration (bacterium & parasite) than it is asking for water-borne disease infection

Both, the one with mil specs (higher ground clearance, 4x4 or more) usually come directly from Japan with their "cosmetics" like the cabin, bumpers, top hatch, bed, etc done by local ATPM.

The one from local ATPM mostly based on civvie specs (4x2/not AWD) with or without the "cosmetics" mentioned before.

I can confirm that we DO have them.

We however, don't have Hellfire Lima that uses the Longbow radar. Hence why they're not installed on the Apaches.
I’m a bit bothered with this, if we true have the ‘konde’.

When we will purchase the compatible missiles?

I believe by installing it since beginning, we will have a lot benefit e.g. we can know that the device is able to work properly or not, training n familiarization for operational and maintenance. Not to mentions deterrent factors for future enemy.

Storing electronic device for long term at warehouse requires the right environmental control and proper preservation program. Otherwise...

It's NOT if. It is widely known that we have them. 4 of them if I'm not mistaken (I forgot the exact SIPRI report)

That is indeed the case for foods, agriculture produce, medicine, or half made semiconductor. But we are talking about military grade finished electronic here. heck even my own personal consumer grade electronic took serious amount of abuse in daily basis and still fully functional after over their useful lifespan

I don't see much value of direct impingement system other than for law enforcement role.
I think the same too. For me direct impingement is outdated, because now we can see many AR10/15 based rifle using piston like MCX, HK416. But, there are news that the US SF are using the DI again with their new rifle the Knight Armament SR-16.

If the Indonesians fail to follow through with the MMWT, it is time for the Turkish defense industry to turn their backs on them and only allow them to buy products as is without any ToT or JV at the most premium price. There are enough other potential customers that are not as frugal, demanding and indecisive when it comes to their defense acquisition as Indonesia. Let them keep fighting in their PT-76's, BTR-50's and AMX-13's.

If the Indonesians fail to sign a deal for the MMWT
Actually they will gain a lot more than Turkey, first 10 will be built in here, remaining 8 will be in Indonesia.
Since Pindad has got IP rights, necessary ToT, the rest of their needs (maybe dozens more) will be directly ordered from Pindad, not FNSS. (and i assume profit will be only shared when platform sold to a 3rd party)
The first 10 only needed to fill the ToT and financial gap, and after that project won't be related to Turkey.

Budget approval sometimes take really long time in Indonesia maybe Pindad should push for it a bit.

The deal is already signed with initiation of the project, FNSS completed their own part and it is not a concern for FNSS or Turkey whether it goes into serial production or not. There is a platform with joint IP rights and FNSS can keep marketing, as told above Turkey won't have any financial gain from the sales made to Indonesian Army despite of some people might be thinking such.

Let them keep fighting in their PT-76's, BTR-50's and AMX-13's.
Lol, so we do. We are using quite ancient platforms as well. And they don't have necessity as we do to deploy in numerous wars so they are just taking it slow.
