somehow i just think Full leght AssaultRifle didnt work well in both CQB and Jungle enfirontment. Except you go for bayonet charge.


I just think SS2 V5 for KOMCAD is a perfect gun for above condition.

Didn't you think short of same stuff ?

There is nothing wrong with 16" barrel length. In fact, it's just "right", it's not too short nor does it's too long. Having shorter barrel mean compromising performance for longer range engagement. It's all came down to the CQB training.

There is still a need for bayonet. In fact, I was told that US force in a-stan do use bayonet for CQB pretty often. The main reason for this is to maintain distance when their weapon jammed or when the shot failed to stop them (lack of stopping power), or a simple case of running out of ammo.

Honestly , i beg to differ on some of your point . While i do agree that relying on a sole suplier was beyond ridiculous . There is still a big merits when it come to a standarized consumable items . A compromising approach would be for an every item listed we are sourcing them from a 3 reliable suplier ( minimum ) . With their yearly PO's quota based on their last year satisfaction rating . So we could create a healthy controlled competition because everybody surely eager to get a bigger pies cut in the next year .

If it come to a peer to peer enggagement those 90 mm surely inadequated . But , we are still in the transition mode here .... And thing still required some time to make doctrins and paradigms to catch and latched on ...
For such a low intensity conflict like a papua and poso even those 90 mm were allready considered as an overkill.....

for papua, if used, that anemic 90 mm will have propaganda value equalling the hiroshima atomic bomb for all those SJWs out there om wkwkwk

Is it true in nowadays skirmish the engagement range vary from 100 to 300 m ? But, perhaps it's only occur in open fields. Yet in tropical environtment i will occur in less than 100 m.

But im kinda curious tho, why US SOG back then in vietnam armed with shorter AR 15 (around 10" if my braind serve me well) rather use standard M16 (if 16" barrel is kind of do the job?

Also some of Raider qualified infantry already equipped with shorter SS1(plus aiming device).
Perhaps they start to employ a a Marksman in each squad so they still get accuracy needed.

I think i know there's need differnent tool for different job like CQB stuff. Wait wait, does US person that tell you to use Bayonet in CQB stand also use 16" barrel AsssaultRifle?

JAKARTA, tniad.mil.id – Kepala Dinas Penelitian dan Pengembangan TNI AD (Kadislitbangad) Brigjen TNI Terry Tresna Purnama.,S.I.Kom.,M.M. menguji coba/Uji Litbang terhadap Prototipe hasil kegiatan Litbanghan Puspalad guna mendapatkan Sertifikasi dari Dislitbangad di Laboratorium Dislitbangad Batujajar, Selasa (27/7/2021).

Kadislitbangad Brigjen TNI Terry Tresna Purnama.,S.I.Kom.,M.M, selaku Kagiat mengatakan bahwa uji coba/Uji Litbang terhadap Prototipe hasil kegiatan Litbanghan Puspalad guna mendapatkan Sertifikasi dari Dislitbangad, sesuai dengan peraturan Kasad yang menjelaskan bahwa Organisasi dan Tugas Dinas Penelitian dan Pengembangan Angkatan Darat, memiliki tugas pokok membina dan menyelenggarakan fungsi penelitian dan pengembangan dalam rangka mendukung tugas pokok TNI AD.



”Diantara fungsi tersebut adalah melaksanakan penelitian melalui uji coba materiel. Salah satu uji coba materiel yang akan dilaksanakan adalah uji coba Prototipe Ransus Kerja Multi Ranpur Mobile hasil kegiatan Litbanghan Puspalad. Ransus Kerja Multi Ranpur Mobile merupakan kendaraan khusus TNI AD yang digunakan untuk melakukan pemeliharaan dan perawatan Tank Leopard di lapangan dan kendaraan pengangkut engine Leopard, sehingga dapat memudahkan bagi prajurit dalam melaksanakan tugas sehari-hari,” ujarnya.

Selanjutnya Kadislitbangad menambahkan bahwa perlunya diuji coba Prototipe Ransus Kerja Multi Ranpur Mobile hasil Litbanghan ini guna mendapatkan sertifikasi agar dapat dijadikan informasi pengembangan berikutnya, sehingga untuk mengetahui fungsi kerja Ransus Kerja Multi Ranpur Mobile yang dikembangkan Puspalad tersebut, Dislitbangad selaku pemegang LKT menguji coba Prototipe Ransus Kerja Multi Ranpur Mobile tersebut guna mendapatkan penilaian sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan pertimbangan pimpinan dalam menentukan kebijakan dalam rangka mendukung tugas pokok TNI AD.



Dalam menguji coba/Uji Litbang terhadap Prototipe hasil kegiatan Litbanghan Puspalad, Kepala Subtim (Kasubtim) uji Mayor Inf Muhiyat menjelaskan pelaksanaan pengujian dengan aspek-aspek sebagai berikut, pertama Materi uji aspek konstruksi dan perlangkapan meliputi Mesin, Bahan, Perakitan, Perlengkapan. Kedua Materi uji aspek kemampuan meliputi Daya gerak, keamanan, stabilitas, pemeliharaan dan pembekalan. Ketiga Materi uji aspek kelancaran kerja meliputi Uji jelajah dan Endurance test (mampu menempuh jarak 1.250 km atau 36 jam secara maraton dengan mesin hidup terus menerus), Pengujian pada seluruh mata uji kendaraan, Pengujian pada seluruh mata uji alat angkat (Crane), Pengujian pada seluruh Genset Keempat Materi uji aspek insani meliputi Dimensi alat pelayanan, Keringanan kemudi, Gangguan, Goncangan simulator balok Pengendalian, Kemudahan.

Hadir dalam Uji coba/Uji Litbang terhadap Prototipe hasil kegiatan Litbanghan Puspalad antara lain perwakilan Mabesad Paban III/Litbangasro Srenaad, Paban IV/Binsisops Sopsad, Paban VI/Alpal Slogad, perwakilan Pussenkav Kodiklatad Dirbinlitbang Pussenkav Kodiklatad, perwakilan Puspalad Dirbinlitbang Puspalad, Dirbinrenprogar Puspalad, Kabalakada Puspalad, Kasubditbinran Sdircab Puspalad, Kabaglitbang Sdirbinlitbang Puspalad, Kasilitbang Sdirbinlitbang Puspalad , Pasilitbang Sdirbinlitbang Puspalad, perwakilan Dislaikad, perwakilan Dislitbangad, Pgs Sesdislitbangad , Pa Ahli Matum Dislitbangad, Kasubdismat Dislitbangad, Kepala Laboratorium Dislitbangad dan Mitra Indhan terkait.

for SS2 V1 it is a long gun with it 18" barrel but for me the perfect length is SS2 V2 16" it not too long but not to short, also it didn't help than they use fix stock instead collapsible.

I was told that US force in a-stan do use bayonet for CQB pretty often.

i think it was british not US, i rarely seen US forces with bayonet (footage and picture) in afghan, they at that time started to think about dropping bayonet assault/training at all (which they did) but i seen a lot of britsh forces with bayonet, especially in the early days of afghan.

it was US Marine though who do bayonet charge several times in Iraq before the convert of their assault rifles still maintained legacy long barrel M16's and till today proper bayonet charge is still in their training menu. BTW, it was true the British still did their hurrah tradition even during modern war and inflicted damage to their enemies in Iraq and Afghanistan, especially those highlander of Scotland Royal Regiment.... they seems remember their good old days in Falkland war to good effect till today.

In mountainous terrain, engagement range is typically over 100m, while in non-mountainous jungle (such as those in Celebes) engagement range is under 100m. Although, for hunting excursion in Indonesia, typical range has always under 100m. I usually take down critter such as at around 40m

Those were exclusively issued for LRRP and SOG guys. They use it because their jobs were mostly to avoid contact (engagement) in the first place, thus serving similar as present day's PDW role.

They using it with 14" M4. The idea is the bayonet serve as last ditch weapon when shit happen (and they always happen)

Merauke (ANTARA) - Personel TNI Satgas Pamtas Yonif 611/Awang Long Pos Komando Utama Sota Kabupaten Merauke, Papua melaksanakan kegiatan patroli patok batas RI-Papua Nugini (PNG) untuk memastikan patok batas negara dalam keadaan aman dan terjaga.

"Patroli ini sekaligus menyelesaikan tugas dan tanggung jawab dalam pengecekan patok perbatasan RI-PNG yang diberikan kepada Satgas Yonif 611/Awang Long, di Sota, Kabupaten Merauke," ujar Komandan Satuan Tugas (Dansatgas) Yonif 611/Awang Long Letkol Inf Albert Frantesca MHan, di Merauke, Selasa.

Dansatgas menyampaikan, Satgas Yonif 611/Awang Long mempunyai salah satu tugas pokok yaitu melaksanakan patroli patok batas negara.

"Sebagai satuan pengamanan perbatasan RI-PNG dalam menjaga kedaulatan NKRI di wilayah Papua. Satgas TNI akan terus berupaya mengatasi ancaman yang dihadapi baik pada masa sekarang maupun mengatasi ancaman yang mungkin terjadi pada masa yang akan datang,” ujar Dansatgas.

Lebih lanjut, Dansatgas mengatakan, selain mengatasi ancaman, Satgas Yonif 611/Awang Long juga melaksanakan tugas mencegah kegiatan ilegal di wilayah perbatasan, mencegah aksi-aksi Gerakan Kelompok Separatis Teroris (KST) dan menyelenggarakan pemberdayaan wilayah pertahanan di perbatasan RI-PNG.

Letkol Albert menjelaskan, patroli patok batas dipimpin langsung Wadan Satgas Yonif 611/Awang Long Mayor Inf Endra Eko Fitrianto SH beranggotakan 13 orang dengan menempuh jarak 30 km.

"Meskipun pada bulan Juli ini sudah memasuki musim panas dan cuaca relatif panas dengan kondisi medan bervariasi mulai sungai, hutan, dan rawa-rawa membutuhkan fisik yang siap, guna memastikan bahwa patok batas dalam kondisi aman tidak bergeser, serta berada di koordinat sesuai data yang ada GPS," kata Dansatgas.

Perwira Topografi (Patop) Satgas Yonif 611/Awang Long Lettu CTP Yudi S yang turut serta dalam patroli patok batas mengatakan patok batas negara yang berjumlah 12 patok berhasil diselesaikan dengan tuntas.

"Semua kondisi patok yang dipatroli dalam keadaan baik dan tidak ada pergeseran," ujar perwira topografi itu pula.

The P6 ATAV is an Indonesian-made Light Attack Vehicle manufactured by the company PT Sentra Surya Ekayaja (SSE Defence). The vehicle is based on an open-top architecture with a tubular frame without doors and windows. It is constructed from high-grade steel material and dual aluminum. The vehicle can carry five military personnel with two seats at the front and three seats at the rear.
The P6 ATAV is powered by a 4-cylinder turbo diesel 2,300 cc. developing 142 hp. at 3,400 rpm. The vehicle uses an independent suspension offering a high level of mobility in all-terrain conditions. It can run at a maximum speed of 120 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 500 km.
The P6 ATAV is available in unarmored variants (V1 and V2) and armored version (V3) providing Level 1 STANAG 4569 ballistic protection with bullet-proof windows at the front. it can be armed with different types of weapons as Remote Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS) armed with 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine gun as well as Gatling gun.
Standard equipment of the P6 ATAV includes runflat tire system, Metravib PILAR gunshot detection system and self-recovery winch mounted at the front of the vehicle.
