Police arrest Middle East drug ring's 11 members in Jakarta

Police arrest Middle East drug ring's 11 members in Jakarta's 11 members in Jakarta

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Metropolitan Police apprehended 11 suspects for smuggling 201 kilograms (kg) of crystal methamphetamine from the Middle East into Indonesia, the Jakarta police’s spokesman, Sen. Coms. Yusri Yunus, stated.

The suspects were recently arrested at the WIR Hotel in the Petamburan neighborhood, Central Jakarta, from whom the cops seized 196 packs of crystal meth weighing 201 kg, Yunus was quoted by ANTARA as saying in Jakarta on Wednesday.

All drug packages bore a similar symbol "55", he noted, adding that police investigators believe that the Middle Eastern network is involved in the drug smuggling operation.

The drug raid operation, which resulted in the arrests of these 11 suspects, was conducted by a joint team of the National Police's Red-and-White personnel and those from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, he revealed.

The team received a tip-off from community members that a transnational drug syndicate will smuggle crystal meth package into Jakarta, he revealed.

Referring to the symbol "55" on the drug package bags, early this year, the police's anti-drug squad personnel also seized a crystal meth package that might have also been smuggled from the Middle East into Serpong District, Banten Province.

Domestic and transnational drug dealers perceive Indonesia as a potential market owing to its vast population and millions of drug users. Drug trade in the nation is valued at nearly Rp66 trillion.

People from all strata of society are falling prey to drugs, regardless of their socio-economic and professional backgrounds.

The Indonesian government has taken harsh punitive action against drug kingpins found smuggling and trading drugs in the country over the past few decades.

While National Narcotics Agency (BNN) chief, Commissioner General Heru Winarko, has sought capital punishment for those involved in drug trade in the country, National Police Chief, General Idham Azis, stated that Indonesian district courts have awarded capital punishment to at least 100 drug offenders in the first half of this year. Crystal Meth is common. If we see something with MIDDLE EAST and CAPTAGON, that's the unique case, once the police investigate that high probablity the footprints will end in war torn Syria.

A scenario where there are multiple terrorist attacks + terrorists continuously moving across the city?

Yup, Sarinah Thamrin case attack, albeit not inflicted large damage had tendency to become another Mumbai attack if the perperator got a much more lethal weaponry

Inghimasiyin in lot of place like Paris November 2015 attack.

FYI, Inghimasi is the tactic of holding a gun and shoot the gun until ran out of ammo, after that "BANG" paradise will be your place wkwk (satire).

It's different with istishhad, which is you only BANG without pew pew, but sometimes pew pew happen too.

ISIS and other terrorists doesn't have air strike that has a big bomb, but they can get the effects of air strike by using V-BED (VBIED).

Edit : That is the beauty of asymmetrical warfare.

One of the primary concern for our gov't should also be, what we're going to do with all those terrorist that were detained.
Police already learned about that after failed prison break by ISIS detainees in Depok. So don't worry, near worst case scenario ever experienced, pasti polisi kita udah ngambil pelajaran dari situ.

How do they counter this?
Just use another name and done
Let them be .. it's only make them a bigger painted target for all the party involved ...nobody was an idiot after all . Wether it's a diversionary move or last ditch defiance we will see ...
It's the price of open democracy with all the control element within .

Police probe attack on MAF plane in Papua's Intan Jaya

Police probe attack on MAF plane in Papua's Intan Jaya

Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA) - Police in Nabire and Intan Jaya districts of Papua province have launched a probe into the torching of a Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) aircraft by several armed Papuans in Intan Jaya.

Nabire district police officers are coordinating with their colleagues from the Intan Jaya police precinct to conduct a field investigation at the crime scene, Papua police spokesperson Sen.Coms. AM Kamal said.

However, the crime scene — the airstrip in Pagamba village in Mbiandoga subdistrict — can only be reached by air, Kamal told journalists in Jayapura, the capital of Papua province on Thursday evening.

The ill-fated Quest Kodiak aircraft's pilot, Alek Luferchek, an American citizen, was questioned before he was flown to Jayapura by the MAF, he informed.

The aircraft took off from the Nabire Airport for Pagamba village's airstrip on Wednesday at 9 a.m. local time.

About 30 minutes later, Luferchek reported to the MAF office that his plane had landed safely at Pagamba village with two passengers onboard, Kamal said.

Shortly after the plane landed, a man, who is suspected of belonging to an armed criminal group operating in Intan Jaya district, suddenly ordered Luferchek to get off the aircraft, Kamal informed.

The man, who was armed, even fired a warning shot in the air while ordering the pilot to duck, he added.

In connection with the incident, Papua Police chief, Insp.Gen.Paulus Waterpauw, had said earlier that Luferchek had been evacuated to Jayapura, but remained traumatized by the event.

"He has not yet talked much because he remains traumatized by the tragic event. He has been evacuated to Jayapura," he said, adding that the police have not yet identified the armed group's members who torched the Quest Kodiak aircraft.

The utility aircraft, bearing the registration number PK-MAX, was owned and operated by the MAF, an organization that has been carrying out a Christian mission in Papua since 1952.

After unknown perpetrators set the aircraft on fire, Luferchek was saved by a priest and local residents.

He was then airlifted on a Helivida helicopter to Nabire district on Thursday morning before being flown to Jayapura, Waterpauw informed.

The armed criminals' attack on the MAF-owned aircraft was detected by Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), which then alerted the MAF and asked it to check the Quest Kodiak aircraft.

The Indonesian province of Papua has continued to bear witness to a vicious cycle of violence, with armed Papuan criminal groups in the districts of Intan Jaya and Nduga targeting civilians and security personnel over the past few years.

Intan Jaya recorded its bloodiest month in September, 2020, with armed groups launching a series of attacks in the area that claimed the lives of two soldiers and two civilians and left two others injured. (INE)

INVESTIGATION RESULTS BY KOMNAS HAM, LIVE NOW on Metro TV.
It's not looking good for FPI.

2 impotant points for them.
1. The dead of 2 laskar is the result of gun fight between police and fpi
2. The dead of 4 laskar could be qualified as human rights violation because police failed to prevent more dead (?) [But what if they fight the police inside the car?]

Although the case of dead of 4 Laskar FPI is still investigated, but I assume they were trying to take officers gun, just as the police said.

No brainer if Polri shot that 4 guys in point blank like ISIS does, must be other things going on there that made our officers shot that 4 guys. Can't wait the result of the next investigation.
