Historically, Indonesian Armed Forces and Police forces actually very capable to do policionil action, from the notorious DI/TII in western Java, heavily armed PRRI/PERMESTA, APRA, Kahar Muzakkar movements, Andi Azis, KNIL rebellion in eastern province (RMS and North Sulawesi), Aceh Freedom movements and so on. This guy seems got red on his National History lesson
