It kind a shame full thing when people open this wiki page and see most of Singaporean MV Swift Rescue mission are to do the things that we should do by our self.
same thing goes to Malaysian MV Mega Bakti btw

Jakarta - The discourse related to defense equipment surfaced after the sinking of the KRI Nanggala-402 in Bali waters. One of the highlights is the submarine rescue ship or rescue ship for submarines.
Asrena KSAL Rear Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali spoke up about this. According to Ali, the issue of rescue ships has been discussed by Bappenas and the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan).
"The problem of the rescue ship is related to my position as Asrena. Our rescue ship will have been programmed with Bappenas and the Ministry of Defense," Ali said at TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Tuesday (27/4/2021).
without discrediting any effort done by our defense planners and any governmental body involved in defense procurement
i hope this is the last time we will bear the mentality of "kena dulu , baru percaya"
He is very emotional about the incidentDanseskoal himself experienced a submarine blackout. He said in just under 90 second the submarine he was in descended to 90 meters because of a faulty fuse.
It is called, "Kearifan lokal"i hope this is the last time we will bear the mentality of "kena dulu , baru percaya"

Kearifan lokal my ass ...
Between corruption , neglect and stupidity ... I say greeds is the main cause .
If you pay attention, this 'tidak ada ancaman perang terbuka/konvensional di masa depan' view has been increasingly echoed by certain groups/people, including on Komcad debateIn the past Netherland (and Netherland Indies) had been warned several Times by their America and European counterpart to build up their military capability in Europe and the Indies as Germany and Japan military build up is quite worrying at the time. But they don't hear and just do half assed efforts, right now we are as successor of Netherland Indies seems following almost the same step.
Something had twisted plot here, since all back to the funds. If you pay attention, this 'tidak ada ancaman perang terbuka/konvensional di masa depan' view has been increasingly echoed by certain groups/people, including on Komcad debate
Coincidence?
this one have 2 version , one of them see it not as an urgency and rather choose to prioritized modernization of our current assets , and the other side like the one you mentioned , they're using "tidak ada ancaman perang terbuka" as their base of reasoning .If you pay attention, this 'tidak ada ancaman perang terbuka/konvensional di masa depan' view has been increasingly echoed by certain groups/people, including on Komcad debate

personally, I'm against forming Komcad at this moment because in my opinion every penny we had should be directed towards modernization and completing our MEF, and to fix our standing army lackluster equipment. If you pay attention, this 'tidak ada ancaman perang terbuka/konvensional di masa depan' view has been increasingly echoed by certain groups/people, including on Komcad debate

Probably Armenian-Azeri war has caught your attention recently, they have been having clashes regularly and in some years it has intensified beyond clashes into a full scale war and lastly it is concluded.Geez... Armenies & Azeries war broke out within several week of troop deployment.
Quality over Quantity, this should be driving point of a modernization. I often see people mention number of the hulls, tonnage of the fleet these don't have any basis for capabilities.this one have 2 version , one of them see it not as an urgency and rather choose to prioritized modernization of our current assets , and the other side like the one you mentioned , they're using "tidak ada ancaman perang terbuka" as their base of reasoning .

and go to hell with that New Capital, we don't need it right now.
Just to be clear, I'm just highlighting that the same argument was used in the debate (which is not the best argument to criticize the program, IMO)personally, I'm against forming Komcad at this moment because in my opinion every penny we had should be directed towards modernization and completing our MEF, and to fix our standing army lackluster equipment.

They are just adding one more possibility however this is not the only submarine in the world sailing at the dangerous seas, moreover with highly experienced sailors, whatever has happened it has caught them in such a way that they couldn't respond.Strong underwater wave may have caused Indonesian submarine to sink, navy says
Such weather phenomenon will be taken into account for future operations. Read more at straitstimes.com.www.straitstimes.com
Senior officials from TNI AL saying that strong underwater wave caused Nanggala to sink. If this is true, then all the speculations about poor condition of the submarine become muted. The question then is this something that can be detected beforehand or is there equipment on board the subs that can detect this....? IIRC our subs regularly trains in those waters so I guess possibility of this sudden underwater current happening again could be quite strong.
The article says that the underwater wave was detected using data from 2 satellites, which I would assume then this is not data that is being analyse in real time during the training exercise. CMIIW.....
Cmiiw...based from the Danseskoal video looks like it was a blackout and the strong underwater increases the descend. When Danseskoal served in Nanggala they experienced a blackout and the submarine stern tilted to 45 degrees and quickly descend. Just under 10 seconds they descended to 90 meters. All the crews had to crawl up to the bow. It was the good and quick response from the KKM (Kepala Kamar Mesin/Chief Engine Room) that saved Nanggala and ofcourse luck. Don't know if this blackout is a common thing happening in Nanggala but luck doesn't always come to you. An active Malaysian Navy Scorpene submariner who opened a therad about Nanggala in Lowyat Forum was surprised about it when he saw the Danseskoal video.Strong underwater wave may have caused Indonesian submarine to sink, navy says
