Must be because the influence of Yakhont.
Brahmos have superior speed, range and bigger warhead compared to other missile available in the market, so I am just gonna support this idea (prolly pushed by TNI AL) I just hope that it can be put into the ship smoothly without any problem.

Thaon's AAW radars are better than Italian fremm ?
Dunno about the spesific data, but ofc the 4 fixed panel (kronos dual band) has the better performance than 1 side rotated (kronos naval), even the Trieste use the same type as Thaon.

Imo for open sea operation FREMM >> PPA, it's almost the same length between the two but FREMM is 3 meters wider.

As for radar, FREMM could be modified to be fitted with fixed radar. American FREMM (Constellation FFG) uses fixed radar.

the next gen FREMM Bergamini will be upgraded with Kronos dual band.

The Navy and Fincantieri are studying a new configuration of the FREMM type frigate. It is a FREMM 2.0 in all respects, which incorporates a series of innovations, starting with the superstructure that houses the fixed-face Dual Band Radar (already adopted on PPAs). The FREMM 2.0 could be acquired by the Navy itself which, as is known, has long expressed the need to equip itself with a further number of new FREMMs: from 2 to 6 units (depending on the available budget).
