they comparing it by directly put the Type 214 without any censor or an alias name, brave move Naval Group

also, in previous discussion about AIP vs Li-Ion Battery, we forgot to discuss one thing, a submarine with Li-Ion Battery, have comparable submerge endurance with current conventional AIP, BUT, even if the battery is run out, the can simply recharge it by doing snorkel manoeuvres and having another AIP-long submerge duration, until the main vessel fuel runs out.

Meanwhile if AIP runs out of it's fuel (pure hydrogen and cryogenated oxigen), they have to refuel it to the base or any base who have the facility to refuel those gasses, or else having AIP modules but no fuel just the same as conventional diesel electric subs, like Nagapasa.

What is the deal with lithium ion battery? Japan totally abandoned AIP in their new Teigei boats.
Does that mean with Lithium ion battery you can stay submerged for 25-30 days?

>>Less complex in maintenance than AIP which needs to be supplied with AIP-grade pure hydrogen, liquid oxygen, etc
>>practically less noise because less moving parts than AIP engine
>>more endurance

Basically it gives AIP advantage without the AIP

I know these two.

>>more endurance

But how is that? It says lithium ion battery has 3x times longer than current battery.
Which means roughly days compared to 3 days. But with AIP you can stay submerged 20-25 days.

Sorry, 9-10 days.
According to official sources, thanks to the full LIBs configuration, the Scorpene Evolved will have a total endurance of 80 days (with 78 of those submerged), an operational range of more than 8,000 nautical miles, a lower indiscretion rate, and maintain top speed longer. This can be achieved because LIBs can store and deliver more energy with shorter charging times than lead-acid batteries.

Let's hope it doesn't turn out to be Iphone, advertised with 2 days battery life only in certain usage profile, but 6 hours if you use headsets, use mobile data and take some pictures.

I don't happen to see what is its range and submerged endurance with batteries only, without snorkeling thus recharging them. Back in my day the designers were coming true numbers, not the numbers to hype the audience and public and hoping social media would yield an inflict on politicians.
