To do this, it will need to be signed within this year, to start work on design modifications and to start construction in 2025. Does PAL have the resources to do this? Considering the AH140 and others? Do they intend to build it in Spain or TR? Oh well, I doubt even if this is licensed, but anyway.

Short answer ?? Wait for the election result

Long answer ?? While i higly respecting the current Pt.PAL CeO for he is trying his hardest try to transform this state enterprise into something more palatable ..without a massive political support for PT.PAL modernization and expansion programme . All of this are nothing but a pipe dreams

There .....i said my piece ..

I am too old for these shits ... ☕☕

I see four Merah Putih Frigate in the above PT PAL video. Maybe an indication that they are planning to built up to four units?

Kinda off topic, but I'm still curious about the reasoning of two 76mm gun (looks like super rapid version) on FMP. I mean, CMIIW, the OG Iver has two 76mm because Danish navy don't have budget to put 5inch gun and CIWS, hence they put two old, compact version of 76mm gun from their decommissioned ship.

Have 1 CIWS at the back, but to use it, the ship needs to turn away from the incoming missile so that it enters CIWS coverage.

Wondering why they didnt configure 2 oerlikon, 1 aft, 1 bow. Or like the type 31 with double 40mm.

76 SR can also be used as a CIWS. It is common practice to use programmable or proximity fuse ammunition. If they acquire programmable munitions, which I highly doubt, and being optimistic, why did they choose 2 x 76 instead of 1 x 76 + 1 x 57 or 2 x 57mm, that could be a highly effective CIWS (both 76mm).

Overall, I believe it is a leftover from the Iver-Huitfeld frigate design and has not been thoroughly studied.

57 mm? I thought that was the common choice.

If Indonesia can get DART ammunition, and there is incoming missile from the side it can be engaged with 2 x 76 mm gun and 1 millennium gun.

they just dont have enough money to put SeaRAM in the front dont they?
Oerlikon at the back 1 SeaRAM and 1 Otomelara Super rapid at the front, there you have a much better combo of CIWS
even though i don't consider Otomelara as a real CIWS, it's just a rapid fire cannon that can shoot a special guided munition

SeaRAM was developed in response to concerns about the performance of gun-based systems against modern supersonic sea-skimming anti-ship missiles. It was designed as a companion self-defense system to Phalanx.

I think the reason they installed 2x 76mm SR is not for CIWS, but added mass for shore bombardment mission. Navy requires its Capital ships to do shore bombardment before marines are sent in and FMP being one of the largest capital ships are required to have double the firepower of traditional <3000 tons warships the navy currently operate. That's the more logical choice than lets say introducing larger 127mm gun.

Somehow i am very in doubt about this notion .. between range and mass pounding .. i chose range anyday of the week ..
