RiP for NG ?
Naval Group? I don't know will they ditch that or not, even though this article speculate like that, but there still no official statement from the Australian Govt, kind of like our Su-35. Play "Melly Goeslaw - Gantung"

"Since then, cost increases, delays, and other issues have dogged work on these submarines, the first of which the Royal Australian Navy announced would be named HMAS Attack in 2018. Under this existing deal, the first Attack class boats have not been expected to enter service until sometime in the early 2030s. The total cost of the program, which includes the production of 12 submarines, has also risen from $40 billion to nearly $70 billion. At the same time, the French government has continued to insist that its own effort to acquire six nuclear-powered Barracudas will only cost just over $10 billion, something that has only raised further questions about the state of the Australian contract with Naval Group.

In June, Australia's defense ministry announced plans to upgrade its existing Collins class submarines due to the issues with the Attack class. In January, there were reports that Australian authorities had also begun exploring alternative replacement options to the French-designed submarines. It would seem clear that the Attack class contract will now be scrapped in favor of these new nuclear-powered submarines."

Sir yes sir,
Now that our southern neighbour plan to get ssn, will it affect to our naval doctrine?
Whatever is that, tetep gak kerasa apa-apa for great powers around us and its ilmu kebal (alliance).

We can just "try" to isolate ourselves and against all syirik of wala' to Godless secular world of South and Atheist Communist North.

*This is satire tho, don't be so serious wkwk

TLDR; PAL human resources is incompetent.
Lack the capability to develop new technology and know how.

Instead of spending money to buy foreign products, how about spending money to attract foreign talent. I am looking at you UAE.
Nah, a lot of brilliant people come and gone, but the problem with BUMN always tends to be due to poor documentation and knowledge transfers and if I have to guess, probably also lacking vision in general. PAL has (I think it was PAL) a blueprint for AsHM sitting gathering dust somewhere in their archive

well at least our admirals' operational cars are more luxurious than those of RAN or USN admirals though. 1 old sub with shady maintenance got sunk with all hand lost and the region is heating up with quality subs are nothing to worry about. cheers guys

meanwhile our 4 navy ship are
1 Diponegoro class
2 Parchim class
1 Bontang Tanker class
There could be under water assets standby in the area.
