Looking in the past, Turkey was quite generous even offered and gave IP rights of a derived platform to Pakistan (PN Milgem), you can easily guess what was on table in terms of ToT, know-how and license/IP transfer.

It was probably financial matters at best (in the past Turkey has not provided any loans for such sales), and at worst probably lobbying power of someone who has known to advertise their platforms. I am not sure why second attempt has failed, it could be the change of the mindset on what to procure from abroad. Now there is another one going on but slightly weak and let's see how it will conclude.

Hmm... Care to explain a bit more, please? It's because I've failed to see the fallout (pun intended) of that 'N' in the renewable energy law which I assumed will give a green light for the construction of 'N' powerplant(s?), with the 'N' for military purpose - excluding the warhead, of course.

It's just part of our learning process which involves building domestic "N" industry.

BATAN have been operating 30MW "N" reactor in Banten since 1990's (German built). The next step is to build and operate > 500 MW "N" reactor for "N" power plants. It's only logical that our next step is to operate 150MW SSN like Barracuda.

After the official greenlight in UU, on paper, we can probably expect to see some progress in both fronts by 2030-2035.

(unless DPR cancel the "N" in the RUU next month)

Batan have older reactor. IMHO stepping for bigger electrical output can be achieve in near future without much time spent to research from scratch.

Batan have older reactor. IMHO stepping for bigger electrical output can be achieve in near future without much time spent to research from scratch.

They do but with much lower power. One reactor in Bandung has 1MW while another in Jogja 250KW.
