When observed from the air, those supposedly "clouds of excrement" in the water - if those were really excrement at all - were also a perfect shroud to hide underwater activities, no?
Literally "camouflage shit", what a innovative. I was eating pineapple while I read it btw, felt like eating shit.

Whoa. This is news for me.

Any information about why we decided not to follow through with this?
Looking in the past, Turkey was quite generous even offered and gave IP rights of a derived platform to Pakistan (PN Milgem), you can easily guess what was on table in terms of ToT, know-how and license/IP transfer.

It was probably financial matters at best (in the past Turkey has not provided any loans for such sales), and at worst probably lobbying power of someone who has known to advertise their platforms. I am not sure why second attempt has failed, it could be the change of the mindset on what to procure from abroad. Now there is another one going on but slightly weak and let's see how it will conclude.

Yeah, well, that was my first thought as well. But I still wonder whether there were actually some technical issues or other things other than the lack of 'kickback' 😝

well at the time Damen already have its claws really deep on us, most likely it was the maneuvering that really defeated Ada being chosen other than the kickbacks (and maybe a slight exaggeration of the technical aspect by its sales)

Honestly if we see the current iteration of Ada, it's not that different with Diponegoro

They doing well in Indonesia, Rafale for example. Maybe just the Naval Group itself responsible for these things that we see recently.

I can't help but guess,... Frigate? In any case, yeah. Better just sit back and observe,... er, I mean, wait...

And finally Fincanteri got their sweet revenge
Ah, the sweet cutthroat world of the defense industry... Makes me want to do an interview with our SoE minister especially about the 'target' to reach the 'Top 50' of global defense companies.

Not that deep though, quite shallow, but nonetheless our guys can't play the deep game in the first place Lol

Well set aside the jokes

Fincantieri already run the game far ahead for Kornas project , discussion for contract detail including work share and renovation of PT PAL facilities, even design detail is already on the table ...

Hmm... Care to explain a bit more, please? It's because I've failed to see the fallout (pun intended) of that 'N' in the renewable energy law which I assumed will give a green light for the construction of 'N' powerplant(s?), with the 'N' for military purpose - excluding the warhead, of course.

It's just part of our learning process which involves building domestic "N" industry.

BATAN have been operating 30MW "N" reactor in Banten since 1990's (German built). The next step is to build and operate > 500 MW "N" reactor for "N" power plants. It's only logical that our next step is to operate 150MW SSN like Barracuda.

After the official greenlight in UU, on paper, we can probably expect to see some progress in both fronts by 2030-2035.

(unless DPR cancel the "N" in the RUU next month:ROFLMAO:)

If we are talking about Submarine program (i hope we have the money at first place) Naval Group "mau tidak mau" must offer better contender to compete against German Type 214(hopefully type 216) or Japan Taigei(latest soryu class) in future tender.

The heat signature in Natuna sea look increased.

U216 is oceanic sub right? Then NG must prepare more than scorpene
It has to be SMX or Original Baracuda then.

Batan have older reactor. IMHO stepping for bigger electrical output can be achieve in near future without much time spent to research from scratch.

why on earth are you guys being this sensitive about nuclear reactor, it's kinda weird speaking something with code, we're not even law makers nor someone who is in charge about that classified information, can we use traditional language as usual..
.
.
also, i don't think we're going after nuclear powerplant afterall, it will be thorium based powerplant

They do but with much lower power. One reactor in Bandung has 1MW while another in Jogja 250KW.

This forum knows some words that if you dare to say it many people will get offended and fight you. Two of them are "F-35" and "Nuclear".
