With the KRI Bontang and Tarakan become online recently , Made the Navy being able to afford to retire one of their old Oiler ship. KRI Sorong is being retired yesterday, she had finished her glorious journey since joint the Navy in 1965, being built in Trogir Shipyard, Yugoslavia in 1964 she had embarked various mission including East Timor invasion, Aceh military operation and so on. Interestingly she far outlived her birthplace country of Yugoslavia till today. Farewell and retired in peace.

if Arun got decomissioned, will we seek a larger dimension Fleet Replenishment Oiler as it's replacement ? (since we will get a more fuel hungry surface combatant too in near future)

something like Tide class or Vulcano Class in term of it's dimension.

I always wonder why we only choose to build a ~2400 ton oiler (Tarakan Class)

Anyway, how much fuel that the Tarakan class could actually carry and, with that capacity, how many ships (REM class for example) it can fully refuel?

arun had less fuel capacity compared to bontang, if it was for supply cargo and logistic capacity, i didn't have any information for that.

3rd proto, this is 2nd, the 1st already burned down. Anyway will it be armed with c705 missile or exocet ashm?

"Suspected Indonesian navy ship". In this guy's other tweet, it seemed like it was actually a formation of several ships.

However, it's still not clear yet whether they were our ships or someone else's. So unless it's confirmed, there's no use thinking about it too much.

"The general manager preferred not to issue statements on the hypothesis of acquisition by Fincantieri of the La Spezia presidium of Leonardo, formerly Oto Melara, or on possible new orders from Egypt, instead giving an affirmative answer regarding the involvement of Muggiano in the works for the commissioned by eight frigates for the Indonesian Navy."

Eight Frigates = 6 FREMM & 2 Maestrale,

Muggiano = Fincantieri Muggiano shipyard in La Spezia. Most likely built in Riva Trigoso and finishing in Muggiano.

What looks like a document for planned 2 new FREMM (outside the latest Italian order for FREMM 9 & 10) built in Riva Trigoso, no delivery dates yet,

I thought Tarakan class, at least for KRI Tarakan has only capacity for 5500 cubic meters of fuel as opposed to 7,400 cubic meters KRI Arun? Unless we decide to update KRI Bontang design specifications, which I hope to be the case.
