I think Baran Energy is more pomising than Esemka, they have been launch Baran Anubis Cruisercross electric motorcycle recently, even thought the price tag is quite high. Baran Energy is start up for electric battery for housing and now they're developing for motorcycle and car.

That one is as suspicious as MAB (Mobil Anak Bangsa). Looking at their CEO, they may have connection to mainland (I'm not racist or anything, just pointing that the case looks similar to MAB).

A new company with little track record of producing auto products launched a high tech automotive products. In engineering POV, this is almost impossible except they use already-existing products. Just look at Fin Komodo Technology, with experts engineer they can only progress so far (the local content is about 70-80%, most of it designed locally even their engine is designed by their engineer but since no Indonesian company could produce true, working automotive engine, the manufacture of the engine is in China).

yeah those japs brand here even have more local content , i dont know if there's other engine block foundry and casting manufacture here beside the one that related to japanese brands (there's texmaco with their licensed steyr engine , and they did cast their own engine block here , but now they've become a history ) .

in my opinion it's different from MAB, not to mention about the engine, but this group of young people did their own design, not rebadged from other brands, you can see on their Instagram the birth process of Anubis cruisercross

I think they are just designing at the moment, the component can comes from local or foreign suppliers. I believe they just need to build assembling factory at the start where component will be supplied by other company like Bakrie/Astra autoparts/Wika Manufacture/or Japanese-Indonesian parts manufacturing companies in Indonesia and electric motor and battery is of ofcourse imported.

Elon Musk also start from zero

If they did design it themselves it is good. The parts however, has small chance to be manufactured in a company with little automotive experience/product like themselves (remember making a non-mass produced product is different from making a serial-produced/mass-produced product). An institute (ITB, UB, UGM, ITS, etc) or modification garage in Indonesia could make a motorcycle or experimental electric car but they couldn't mass produce them.

Well the point is covered by Indos.

Just an example, Budi Luhur University Electric Bike prototype

Alright, since - for obvious reason - I'm interested in this, does anyone know if this is really indigenous research and design?

I just want to make sure if it's really developed in-house (in Terafulk? / BPPT?) and not actually a modified form of an existing design from other countries.

This is the design that is presented about 1 and half year ago and you can see they have tested many submarine designs in that BPPT hidrodinamika facility by seeing on those yellow models

Wow.. wow wow...
Is it okay to do it so publicly like this?
Don't Rolls-Royce gonna sue us for doing this?
perhaps they already talk about that in "backstage" , safran/turbomeca (french engine maker) also participate in developing this engine .

we are trying to reverse engineering the RR Turbomeca Adour 871 engine ??? i hope this is a good foundation if sometimes we wanted to developed our own LIFT
Well, it's a start.

Although there's no telling how long it will take until we can see an indigenously developed jet engine that can be used to power modern jet fighters as the result of this reverse engineering effort.

This engine is quite capable though slightly problematic as they are historically used to powered Specat Jaguar, Mitsubishi F1 and T45 Goshawk. There is alot of thing we can do by reverse engineering them, they can be used to our future light fighter, UCAV and so on.

why not ask rolls royce directly for assistance just like india and japan did. being it an older engine i think they would give a lot (and easier access) on those engine tech where we can develop our own engine (or partly) from.

this could be the case , but instead we choose the words "reverse engineer" , don't forget , it's not rolls royce alone who participate creating this engine .

They are using local Sales representative, while looking at PT Infoglobal Technology...
