pfft, just realized that our Research and Technology minister now has an economic instead of a technical background.
As far as I know it is because it's still a prototype... They tested the firing and loading system on a cheap platform. Just see the first prototype, it is not used anymore (if it used expensive truck the first prototype would waste more money). If it's certified, TNI may order them using off-road military truck.why didn't they use something like this as a platform with more better ground clearance , rather than civilian truck

U just remind me the notorious Pantura fleetsAnd just how high of a ground clearance do you want
Using commercial platform save a lot of money, not to mention many commercial platforms are proven platform in Indonesia terrain. Furthermore, ground clearance alone isn't the only determining factor when it came to cross country capability or off-roading.
The so-called military platform are typically not only more difficult to maintain, their spare parts also far more expensive due to the lack of economy of scale compare to their commercial counterpart.
Still better than in the 1999-2000 era when Research & Technology Minister was led by ASH with social political background ... the "De-habibienisasi" was on its way....LoLpfft, just realized that our Research and Technology minister now has an economic instead of a technical background. LMAO
in fact when this program started, our "Research and Technology" minister had a Forestry, Economic background.
Hulls of Klewang class (2nd ship) can be seen, but looks like they were the hulls which started to be constructed after the 1st ship, and still not mounted.
