In early March, a Nexter Group spokesperson confirmed to

I hope they can license producing some heavy gun like 20 mm vector, and 105 mm gun and 120 mm gun if we ordered more medium tank and MBT. We need more of them

Err actually they already had significant capability in metalurgy but for specialized purpose still far off
Wellll,.. is this specialized purpose can be considered as lack of manufacturing capabilities especially in metallurgy?

Barrel, especially big ones is need more than krakatau stell, to be honest.

And also, business like this need lots of money while if our military cannot guarantee sustained support the manufacture will doomed.

We are already doing good at commercial stage, as Indonesia actually one of the largest exporter country of stainless steel and other processed of steel. Not many people realized Indonesia though had rather low of raw iron and steel production (in which still a burden to our industry and market) but actually had more complete and large of various Type of steel processing facilities.

For specialized purpose of various metal to be used for military purpose there is a lot of type of them. But that's not the main issue, the main issue is we are lacking in market (TNI small inventory of any main weapon system) and further commitment from government to funding military expenditure at large scale. And as i said before, our military equipment is still rudiment, backward and very small in number if there is a modern ones and our government previously been reluctant to invest more to military spending this resulting in lower incentive toward production of various support items for military industry.

As an example, we only had around 103 leopard 2 MBT and 275 AMX13. This number is not enough to warrant any industry to engage in tank gun barrel production to be used as sparepart or replacement units as the demand is very very low. It is logistically more reasonable to stock them directly by import them from various companies who Made tank gun barrel. The story would be different if Indonesian government through MoD suddenly signing contract for more than 1000 Leopard 2 through batches buying scheme, like 250 units per five year for about 20 years program. This would give incentive toward industry to ask full license production for the tank gun and set up production line as there is long term commitment toward the program (at least 20 years running production) and they can keep producing for spare gun as there is a lot of MBT in the army inventory need routine maintenance.

RTAF reveals details of receiving technology transfers from F-35 (Let's wait to see if the US will sell the F-35 or not
😁
😁
)

1. There are scholarship offers to Thailand at the bachelor's and master's degree level. reasonable amount for the transfer of important technologies and promote the overall development of the country
2. Air Force personnel should participate in technology transfer (Offset Scholarship) for development in various fields on the basis of sustainable self-reliance. as well as having the ability to test applications Continuous monitoring of usage results and accreditation of standards which are internationally accepted
3. Technology transfer in the field of aircraft design that can be concealed from radar detection (Stealth), in the part of aircraft design (Aircraft Design), material design and maintenance. disguise
4. Technology transfer in the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to apply knowledge in the command and control system. In the consideration of threats (Threat Assessment & Analysis) for the command and control system. more efficient
5. Transfer of integrated maintenance work technology to follow up on the maintenance system. Management system, parcel maintenance in realtime and can take into account the trend of demand for equipment supplies in maintenance.
6. Technology transfer of knowledge in modern aircraft test flight and flying tests of unmanned aerial vehicles in nature Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) for Air Force pilots which serves to test the performance or the operation of the aircraft
7. Technology and knowledge transfer in the field of weapon analysis and selection (Target Weaponeering)
8. Electronic Warfare technology transfer, including obtaining access to the frequency account (EW Library).
However, the technology in which the Air Force is interested in transferring that technology It's a high-end military technology. There is a layer of secrets directed. It is considered Military Know how (which creates an advantage in modern combat).

I wonder what would happen if the Thai got F-35 and TOT too, would Prb ngamuk in front of the U.S. ?
