It is using the same platform as French Serval (using Texelis Celeris), with a similar protection level too. The Serval afaik is not classified as an MRAP but did have mine blast protection lv 2 to 4. However, it does have a V hull, just hidden behind storage boxes like Bushmaster / Sanca.

US JLTV, while having MRAP capability, had a very shallow V-hull (however Oshkosh M-ATV, sometimes confused with L-ATV / JLTV, did have significant V-hull)

It can be seen in this video of a JLTV getting rolled over

new facelift P2 APC Tiger
As far as I understand, the old one used Kamaz Typhoon as its development base, while this one is using Texelis' Celeris platform.
So it's not just a facelift IMHO. Wonder why they still choose to keep the old name of "P2" while it would probably better to designate it as a new vehicle.

I was thinking the same.

Anyway got to admit this new version of the P2 Tiger by SSE & Texelis imho is as of now the best in design 4x4 Indonesian armored vehicle. Beautiful beast. Better than Pindad Komodo and even the French Nexter Serval.

It's unclear if Anoa 3 (indigenous not VAB mk 3 Rebadge) will continue. If what this twt was (or still) true [image is spoilered btw, must click on the link if you want to see]

From previous "hearsay" the VAB rebadge would not be continued. This picture is the indigenous design, not VAB.

Again, the problem is money/funding

For the deployment in Papua mountains, Komodo is considered too big, that's why they're deployed in the Indo-PNG border, not on the conflict zone in the mountains

And the "MRAP-like" P2 Tiger is unlikely to be widely used. Because of our small budget ILSV is more logical.

Government studies Maung Pindad as a candidate for national electric car

PT_Pindad_-_MORINO_EV_1.jpeg

Rosan said that the government is not only focusing on foreign investment, but also on the development of national electric vehicles, through the involvement of the national defense equipment industry, PT Pindad.

By developing the Maung tactical car into an electric vehicle, Rosan hopes to accelerate the transition to renewable energy and encourage the national automotive industry in a more environmentally friendly direction.

"We have been consistent in achieving net zero emissions by 2060, in fact, President Prabowo's wish is to be faster," he said.

Reported from the official website of PT Pindad, the defense equipment manufacturer domiciled in Bandung, West Java, is currently preparing the Morino EV as a light four-wheeled electric-powered tactical vehicle intended to support operations with high mobility.

The vehicle is equipped with an electric drive with a power of 160 HP/125kW, MORINO EV is capable of being driven at a safe speed of 100 km/h with a battery capacity of 292 V (150,000 mAh), MORINO EV is capable of reaching a distance of up to 170 km.

Defense Minister Sjafrie Samsoeddin has reviewed the development of the car to PT Pindad on Thursday (9/1). On that occasion, the Minister of Defense saw the readiness of defense equipment production by Pindad, as well as the electric version 3 Maung vehicle which is ready to be launched by the President in the near future.
