Not as much as it use to be. Many talents are back in Turkey, this happened only because the current government made it a priority to focus on science and technology.

Good to know to be honest. I read a story of how a lot of talented engineers and scientists left Turkey then they came back. When they came back they took back the knowledge they learnt from other countries and brought it back to Turkiye.

Still brain drain should always be combated or at least try to entice them come back.

Sending students overboard also helps.

This is not the only problem now. Many engineers working on defense industry looking for positions abroad. Because, most of them don't have much faith with the current state of the country.
This is not the sole problem but those engineers are hurt by seeing someone can suddenly get the job they have worked for years, promoted unfairly, and those "favored people" tend to not do anything and screw up so bad, again they have to work extra hours to fix errors and make up the laziness of those employees who have fallen from sky.
It is getting more and more. My friend has spent years to be a associate professor and a new PhD graduate without any post-doc (since with Covid that requirement has been suspended) with an acquaintance (someone from top) got the position he supposed to get, with much less articles, no experience in projects or teaching.
Moreover the same person who has got his position, now occupied my friend's lab (which he has upgraded through years with negotiations and finding budget, projects, students) and mobbing-disabling him to do anything else and removing his students, again he was assigned to that lab directly by rector of university (which never happened before) .I am not detailing this,it gets worse with details.

This is called torpil or AKP's man policy.

A few years ago my cousin was pushed aside to make room for a relative to minister of education, but when the ministers relative failed, she was brought back.

Commercial software normally collects data for commercial purposes. However, the situation in the Facebook group is slightly different. Facebook is a system that has previously been proven to manipulate certain elections and where its founder is judged. My doubts about the Facebook group are increasing. Because such systems form the basis of open source intelligence. And Facebook can use it or make it available for these purposes.

When it comes to intelligence, it is Chinese software and hardware that should be avoided the most. Chinese hardware phones and software send data to servers in China. And it does this in the background, without your notice and without your approval. They've been caught over and over.

Even if all software does not have a back door, the owner of the server can access our data. For example, Google followed us even when we turned off the location on Google. The location key is, after all, a graphical interface. When we turn it off, we can think that the code is running in the background, closing the location. But he didn't.

Thus, an opportunity arises for the development of domestic applications. However, as I said, every contact leaves a mark in the digital world. Therefore, it is necessary to be more careful in the digital world.
you dont understand how it works... if anybody develop a software, google doesnt give you to use Youtube, google or all other apps to use. you think its hard for other countries to develop it? no
look at chine, CHinese phones have their own software for users in CHine, but once they go global, they need to use google software as if google block youtube and google services, nobody will purchase the phone... they thought it all in advance..

Yes this is problem. A few years ago one of my friend applied to RA position in Ege University. When we went to the university to deliver documents, we visit a friend of ours who is working at the same department. He told us, my friends application would be fruitless, because position was opened for a specific person. Unfortunately, such thing happening in much of official institutions, like Elif Can Yetim case in THY.

Impossible nowadays, the provider can follow most of the phones. Too many stations around.
I mean by software, not by GSM Operators. Of course, everyone who uses a Sim Card can be located, even if it is not accurate.

Whatsapp will start sending everyone's data to Facebook next month.

lol yes thats not something special nor something new bad that will happen..:

people use Apple (the worst from the very beginning) and people use google.. there had been televisions with cameras.. and now there will be smartphones with cameras that are not visible on the screen.. will our tv have a camera wich is not visible for us?

who cares to have their photos and other stuff in the cloud let be apple, amazon google or microsoft.. hey there image recognition text recognition even by video these services can easy see where you had been what you like what you do who you know even by image recognition (+video) you have contact to someone who has contact with someone crimanal they could easy see the connection because you had been on one video for 3 seconds..

we all belive and think that this is not happening. that images and videos on cameras in public are not used for such things to track you.. we want to belive everything is fine .. but george orwells visions seem infantil with todays technological abilities..

what do you think are the benefits of an battery directly attached to your phone without you to be able to plug it out? you may be tracked and listened to without you even noticing it.. also today they are moving towards virtual sim cards ... than you dont need any card and that could make it easier to spy on you

our data is in the cloud our data can be collected by various ways.. the software we use has official backdoors and we think end to end encryption will protect us.. it cant do a shit while they provide the api for network, encryption, the creation of listviews, buttons, forms, webbrowser views, and so on.. if I have that amount of control I would not try to break the encryption I would build it this way: just get the decrypted data from the OS controls itself..
I belive there are many backdoors in such a level and even more I also think they can see what you see like VNC/Teamviewer hear what you hear, alexa, cortana, siri, google can to speech recognition and there may be things I do not imagine today..

years ago I was asked why I use my own implemented encryption (twofish and some other) I was held for paranoid and than some time later it came out there had been bugs on ssl libraries wich everyone use.. but unfortunally we cant build everything from the scratch

but for turkey it is essential to use their own software their own servers their own cloud their own conference software.. my idiotic firm I work for we moved to microsoft teams and share everything our workflows, our mindmaps, our circuit plans, our mechanical plans and so on this enables the us government to spy on us like they want to, we willingly give them everything and are happy (I also bellive with windows and some macintosh we already opened a backdoor we just made the searching procedure easier for US) so again better we have our own software and infrastructure..

I also can give you something that had a real value! there was a german student, his internet name was TRON he build an addon for your isdn Telefone this was a box in wich you just plug in cables and than you could have RSA encrypted telephone for some DMark, it was easy to use you just dial a number and it will be encrypted if the other sides uses the same box! what happened to this system where telephones where simple boxes with no OS and no Spy options installed like todays complex smartphones.. ? that guy was found in Park he was made suicided.. a healthy young man who had almost got his university degree found hanging on a tree because he invented something that would have made it impossible to spy on.. except you go all the way to his hous and spy with other hardware..

His plan was to have his cryptophone for the masses beside his hacking activities wich may have also made him appear on blacklists this system would have been a serious blow for all spying activities for the government because it was free aviable I remember to have a copy of the plans and the software many many years ago..

I have to add this his phone was not ready for the market.. With his death the project was over.. But he showed us that his let's say prototype had potential

It's not in the interest of any country really to have completely encrypted phones. No matter what companies say there is always one backdoor.

No, it's not fiasco at all. But there is huge propaganda against it.

it's actually 50,38% efficacy for "very" mild case, 78% for mild cases, and 100% for moderate or severe cases.

Other 2 vaccines aren't 100% against severe or even moderate cases.

This numbers are overall comparable to Biontech vaccine. Moreover, There are recorded Covid related deaths amongs who take Biontech vaccine. So it's not 100% effective if you don't wanna die while Chinese one has better results.

I did not know that, i apologize for being mislead without proper research but anyway Turkey should pursu itsown vaccine there would be still plenty of need for it, especially for your own people.

Well, it does happen in Denmark too, you find a person you want, and tailor the job description to that specific person.

I just hope the person they want is competent and qualified for that position.

I mean if it’s Faruk Aksit type of person then I’m all for it. I think we’re forgetting that political leaders and appointees has through our TC history had an impact on how things went. Not because they’re competent, but because they get in the way of things.

We just need them to sit on the sideline and cheer.

TEMSA started to produce batteries and battery packs in Adana

Sabancı Holding Industry Group President and TEMSA Chairman of the Board Cevdet Alemdar said, "We are now developing and producing the batteries and battery packs we use in our electric vehicles at TEMSA's facilities in Adana. We used our battery packs that we produced. It is very proud for us to realize such an important project within TEMSA. " said.

An online press conference was held with the participation of Cevdet Alemdar and TEMSA Senior Manager (CEO) Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu regarding TEMSA Transportation Vehicles' (TEMSA) vision on electric vehicles.

In his speech at the meeting, Alemdar stated that TEMSA is one of the few companies in the world that has started to work in the field of new technologies many years ago and has made more than one model ready for mass production today.

Alemdar said, "Today we see TEMSA as an automotive-focused technology company rather than just an automotive company. We develop all the technologies that lead the industry, especially our electric vehicles, with our own engineers and our own R&D team in our facility in Adana." he spoke.

Stating that battery and battery technology has always been questioned when it comes to electric vehicles, Alemdar said, "We are now developing and producing the batteries and battery packs we use in our electric vehicles at TEMSA's facilities in Adana. Lastly, we have our own batteries in our electric vehicles exported abroad in the past month. We used the battery packs we developed and produced in our facility. It is very proud for us to realize such an important project within TEMSA. " used the expressions.

Electric vehicle on the road to the USA

Stating that TEMSA focuses on sustainability and technology in its growth strategy, Alemdar said:

"At the intersection of these two issues, we already see electric vehicles. We trust ourselves and our technology here. As TEMSA, we made our first electric vehicle export to Sweden in the past month. So what you call Sweden, which has really owned this technology for many years, has revealed a serious vision in this matter. Perhaps the country that embraces this issue the most in the world It is really valuable to make our first export here as TEMSA.

For example, the world's largest technology companies in the USA use our TEMSA branded buses for the transportation of their employees. We will see our electric vehicles around here in the upcoming period. The studies and developments of this continue. Our best selling vehicle model in the USA is TS45. We are preparing to produce the electric model of this vehicle. One prototype is currently being tested in California. We hope that our electric vehicles, which we have produced in Adana with their battery packs and hoods, will be on the roads in different regions of the USA, especially in Silicon Valley. The electric vehicles that we make ready for mass production, the battery packs we develop with domestic facilities, the technologies we export and will be exported. It's all part of this vision. "

New center for R&D studies: TEMSATech

Underlining that TEMSA has been investing heavily in R&D and innovation for many years, Doğancıoğlu stated that the TEMSATech platform was established within the company for new technologies. Stating that TEMSATech works in many different areas such as autonomous vehicles, power distribution and vehicle charging units, charging stations as well as electric vehicles, Doğancıoğlu said, "About 30 engineers work here. Electric vehicles that we export to Sweden are a product of TEMSATech . " said.

Stating that battery technologies are the heart of electric vehicles, Doğancıoğlu said, "Today, the vehicles we have developed as TEMSA can be charged in a maximum of 2 hours. On the other hand, the range is related to the size of the battery. Here, we offer a range of 300-400 kilometers for vehicles that we make ready for mass production." made his comment.

"We are working with Skoda on hydrogen"

Explaining that TEMSA has been carrying out its work on electric vehicles for a long time, Doğancıoğlu said, "We supply battery raw materials from abroad as we do all over the world. We did not experience any disruption here due to the pandemic. In addition, we work with Skoda Transportation, especially hydrogen on alternative fuels. Skoda's technological power is very important here. I hope we will announce our concrete work on this in the coming days. he spoke.

"More than half of the buses will be electric by 2025"

Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu, who also shared information about future goals, said, "We aim to meet more than half of our total bus volume by electric vehicles by 2025. We allocate approximately 4 percent of our turnover to R&D every year. We expect the share of exports in our electric vehicles to reach 80 percent. If we look at it in the short term, we plan to reach a business volume that is 2-3 times the size of the previous year. " found in the description.

Pointing out that new products can also be produced by TEMSA in cooperation with Skoda Transportation, Doğancıoğlu said, "Skoda Transportation is a company with great experience in rail systems. In the short term, we can cooperate in trolleybuses. For the production of these, TEMSA's factory in Adana has both infrastructure and knowledge. Trains and trams are also product areas we regularly monitor. In addition, we will closely follow the public tenders with Skoda. " said.

TEMSA had applied for its own consent to exit the concordat in December 2020.

On the other hand, according to the information given at the meeting, TEMSA, which started to operate under the umbrella of Sabancı Holding - PPF Group partnership with the share transfer realized in the previous months, is entering the new period ambitiously.

The company, which agreed to restructure the share transfer transactions with banks, also made an application to exit the concordat with its own consent in December 2020; The concordat process at TEMSA ended with the decision of the relevant court.

In addition to all these developments, TEMSA has attracted attention with the important deliveries it has made abroad in the last few months. The most prominent among these was the Swedish export made by TEMSA to Sweden, which went down in history as the first electric vehicle delivery in its history.

We need a thread about Nepotism in Turkey.
