Zinc plant worth 102 million dollars opens in Siirt on 20 November

The zinc facility, which was built in Siirt with an investment of 102 million dollars and will provide direct employment to 3 thousand people in the first stage, will be opened on 20 November.

The facility, which was implemented by Lineer Metal AŞ in Siirt Organized Industrial Zone with a Turkish-Qatar partnership, will reduce Turkey's zinc imports by 40 percent with a production of 90 thousand tons in the first place.

They plan to increase their annual production capacity to 250 thousand tons with additional investments of 500 million dollars until 2023. Adding Zinc Sulphate and Zinc Oxide to its product range will be another target.

The company also announced that on the day of the opening of the zinc smelting plant, the foundation of two more plants, a lead-silver and sulfuric acid, will be laid as a continuation of the same initiative. The Sulfuric Acid plant is expected to start production with a capacity of 132 thousand tons.

Together with the integrated facilities, it will be produced and sold in ingots with a capacity of 5,000 tons/year in mines such as Lead, Cadmium, Nickel and Cobalt.

The raw material of zinc and lead will be obtained from rich mineral deposits to be obtained from Hakkari, Şırnak and Siirt.

We gradually started to export our base stations and network products. We are currently receiving orders from countries where we are testing. Orders are in the hundreds. This makes us very happy.

Currently, we have received orders from 3 countries, from African and Asian countries. We have received both base station and software-based network orders.

I was aware that Vestel made mobile phones but i've never heard of General Mobile.

They seems to be on par with Xiamoi/Realme and other chinese brands.

It should be businesses like these that provide high value exports that the government should help subsidies. Perhaps not the mobile phone market itself - as its already quite saturated and full of chinese brands, but other products such as electric scooters or bikes should be given priority over raw material exports.
