May they remain soured. The damage Pakistani society has taken from the friendship with Saudia is immeasurable. Saudia has managed with use of it's petro-dollars to make deep inroads into Pakistani society retarding social progress and progress. The scum of Pakistani society who prior to 1970 were on the fringes recieved massive funding and today have millions of disciples willing to kill for their patrons.

As a person of Pakistani origin I have seen the image of Pakistan plummet over the decades causing incalcuable economic and opportunity cost. Just finding OBL, a Saudi hiding in Pakistan destroyed the image of 200 million Pakistani's across the globe.

Not one Pakistani was in the 9/11 hijackers but the OBL fiasco left Pakistan holding the smoking gun in front of the world. The world equated Pakistan with global terror. Furthermore this event gave Pakistan's existential enemy India a golden opportunity to launch a propaganda war across the media in Western world to disparage Pakistan which even continues today. The result is Pakistan's global stock has been left in tatters.

So, personally, earnestly hope Pakisatan looks west to rather than south to the Arabian peninsula.
