The moment Iran falls, Turkey is next in line that is 100% sure.
Is that so? You don't think that countries will look back at what happened in Iran and conclude that the cost was greater than the benefit?

But the TWZ article shows that US must be firing those attacks from ground in the gulf countries being hit. And not just from air.

We saw spent HIMARS cases in Kuwait in the desert and footage of them being used in Bahrain; yes.

The costs may seem insignificant compared to the colossal benefits.
Trump writes that Iran has begun laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz. He demands that Tehran remove them immediately.
Iran has 2,000-6,000 naval mines.
The Russians can provide them with another 10,000.
The Russians are happy: the strait is closed, oil is worth $100! China and India can't buy oil from the Persian Gulf countries; they'll have to turn to Putin.
Will Europe be left without oil?! Trump doesn't care.
However, Trump himself can close the strait later!
Trump himself will decide to whom and at what price to sell oil from the Persian Gulf countries!
The benefits are colossal!
As the Americans say: the whole world is in your pocket 🙂

Nothing official so far, but:

The P-15B class destroyer INS Surat was in Bahrain as of 19th February. Don't know where it is now. At least one frigate was also present somewhere in the region.

More ships may have been readied/deployed over the last week. We'll know if the escort mission starts.

EDIT: Seems the tweet was deleted. Basically, it said that India was preparing for a naval deployment to perform tanker-escort missions.

The Gulf mess is certainly giving Putin a financial reprieve. Restoration of free movement in the Gulf will not be a return to status quo ante. An unknown amount of damage has been done to loading facilities and refining capacity in the arabian peninsular countries.

tradingeconomics forecasts crude at $100+ for the four quarters of 2026. Of course, that is a best guess exercise, given the current instability in the Gulf: https://tradingeconomics.com/forecast/commodity

So far Iran is striking everything they can. They launched hundreds of heavy ballistic missiles at Israeli residential areas. They attack gulf countries.

Israel and US on the other hand did NOT started Iranian main assets: oil refineries, ports, electric facilities, bridges...

Israel and US can take out all these in 1 day and return Iran back to stone age.

This war showed once again that traditional air defences like S-300/400, Buk, Tor etc are completely useless against modern air force.

The only Iranian air defence which is doing something is passive optical guided which they use to shoot down slow flying UAVs.

I would not count on the US and Israel NOT doing exactly what you say they have chosen not to do so far. This is a war of hatred for Iran and Israel, isn't it?

All THAAD Batteries assigned to U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) have been withdrawn from the Korean Peninsula and redeployed to the Middle East.

Extreme strategic mistake

"This is a huge story in China right now given how big an outcry the installation of this caused back in 2017: Chinese tourism to South Korea was stopped, the Lotte Group was essentially shut down in China (nearly all of Lotte Mart's 112 Chinese stores were closed down due to "fire safety issues"), Hyundai and Kia had to close factories, k-pop disappeared from Chinese media, etc.

And now the US is just dismantling it to send it to the Middle-East... So, quite literally, to have this, South Korea endured tens of billions in economic damage and did enormous harm to its relationship with its neighbor and largest trading partner... only for the US to take it back whenever it suited them.

The lesson writes itself."

Israel and the US can bomb Iran as much as they want, but I think the only way to remove the regime is boots on the ground, and I don't see that happening unless the US is willing to lose 1000+ soldiers in the short term. This would be nothing like Iraq, let alone Venezuela. Not only is the population much larger, but they're more motivated. Furthermore the terrain is horrendous for the attacking force.

Frankly I think Israel's real goal will be achieved, Iran will be severely handicapped. However this whole thing has been a massive embarrassment for the US. Trump and Hegseth have spoken really big and they went straight for the decapitation of the leadership, this was a severe miscalculation.

If Iran has tens of thousands of Shahed 136s and a large stock of ballistic missiles underground, this could last a lot longer than the US can stomach. Not to mention their shorter range missiles that can target the gulf. How much longer until the gulf states lash out at the US to end the war? Their whole image as a safe haven is now in tatters.

Iran might be knocked back to the stone age (as if they weren't already with the regime in charge), but it won't be the only loser. The Arab Gulf states went from safe havens to hellscapes. Meanwhile Israel is being hit more than ever before, we'll see how much damage is done after the media blackout is lifted. The US has lost billions of dollars worth of radars, it's literally bringing in air defences assets from east Asia, what if those also get hit?

Who's to say Russia and China aren't providing intelligence?

This might be a tactical victory for Israel, but it's a disaster for the US. It's Trumps "special operation" moment. He is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Just like Russia, the US is an inflexible empire. Its tech might be the best in the world but that's not enough to defeat a determined enemy.

US Central Command has released footage of missile strikes on the Iranian Navy. The video shows American missile strikes on the Iranian Shahid Soleimani-class corvette, as well as on Gadir-class submarines, Zolfaghar-class missile patrol boats, and other Iranian assets.

The Gadir-class submarines are a series of midget submarines built by Iran specifically for navigating the shallow waters of the Persian Gulf. The project is named after the religious site of Ghadir Khumm. As of 2025, approximately 20 submarines of this class have been built and commissioned, all of which are operated by the Iranian Navy and serve in the Southern Fleet. The Gadir-class submarines are designed for littoral combat operations.

I wonder what will happen if oneday US finally exit the middle east. Everyone know they will.
More than 80 percent of US people against to start anew war in middle east, so perhaps this is the last time US declear a war to make Isreal satisfy.
But, what is the cost?
