How Netanyahu Misled Trump

"The New York Times published an investigation into the war in the Middle East and its consequences. The article's authors argue that US President Donald Trump's decision to start a war with Iran was driven by personal convictions, the influence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and a disregard for intelligence.

The decision to launch Operation Epic Fury jointly with Israel was made quickly, without lengthy negotiations or the consent of the allies. The article states that the Israeli prime minister explained to the US president that the Iranian regime would be "too weakened" to close the Strait of Hormuz, at which point it would collapse completely.

On February 11, Netanyahu addressed the war room, declaring that Iran was ready for regime change and expressing confidence that a joint US-Israeli operation would finally be able to put an end to the Islamic Republic.

Netanyahu and his team "laid out conditions that they said indicated a near-guaranteed victory: Iran's ballistic missile program could be destroyed within weeks. The regime would be so weakened that it would be unable to close the Strait of Hormuz, and the likelihood of Iran striking US interests in neighboring countries was assessed as minimal."

Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the plan "nonsense," but Trump made his choice.

Trump initially declared that Iran's nuclear and missile programs must be destroyed and its military power weakened. Then new goals emerged: Iran's "unconditional surrender."

According to the NYT, Trump was counting on a quick victory, the internal collapse of the regime, and an uprising in Iran. But this did not happen, and the war quickly spiraled out of control. The NYT notes that the US found itself drawn deeper into the conflict than it had planned."

Are you saying that people without weapons can win a war 😳
Not "without weapons". More like it is not always just the weapons and who has a bigger and more technologically advanced army. I heard on the radio where they were discussing geopolitical stuff, it wasn't about this war, they said the world and the war is not as simple as a country has a bigger army and more technologicaly advanced than their opponents = they will always win 100%. In Greek history, let's say in Manzikert 1071 you celebrate this much, Izmir 1922, Cyprus 1974, it is the Greek politicians of the time who messed big time, didn't allow the Greek army to fight according to its true capability and potential and the Greek politicians of the time won the war for the Turks. When the politicians didn't interfere like that, the Greek history is full with cases we won against a bigger and more technologicaly advanced army.

Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) has said in a statement following the announced conditional ceasefire that negotiations will be held in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad within a maximum period of 15 days for the details to be "finalised". The statement has said that the negotiations will be held so that "Iran's victory in the field would also be consolidated in political negotiations".

The statement has gone beyond the 10-point plan that had been announced by state TV, and the statement has said that the US has agreed to:

  • Guarantee not to repeat its "aggression" against Iran
  • The continuation of Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz
  • Acceptance of [uranium] enrichment
  • Lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions
  • Termination of all resolutions of the [UN] Security Council and International Atomic Energy Agency
  • Payment of compensation to Iran
  • Withdrawal of US combat forces from the region
  • And the cessation of war on all fronts, including against the "Islamic resistance of Lebanon"

Correspondent: Iran is victorious on several fronts – "they have found the economic answer to a nuclear bomb"

The Iranian regime has triumphed on several fronts.
And Donald Trump's latest "last-minute retreat" is no exception.

This is what Berlingske's correspondent in the Middle East, Gunnar Willum, says in a quick analysis this morning:

"The mere fact that they have survived Israel and the US bombing war for six weeks is interpreted as a victory. They have shown their allies in Russia and China that they can handle it. Many doubted that," he says.

But the Iranians have got more than that, Willum adds.

A propaganda victory:

"Trump's threats to wipe out an entire civilization suddenly make the radical Islamist regime, which a few months ago massacred demonstrators in the streets, appear more moderate," Berlingske's correspondent said.

"Not just in the eyes of the outside world, but in the eyes of many Iranians. Also among those who want to steer to where the pepper grows."
A victory in Hormuz:

"But the biggest victory of all is Iran's success in using the Strait of Hormuz as a weapon," it said.
"They have found the economic answer to an atomic bomb. And unlike a real atomic bomb, they have actually been able to use it without severe consequences for themselves."

And they will be able to do so again.

Zionism won't stop attacking Iran. When the next war occurs they will claim that iran broke the agreement. Its really no different to how they lied about saddams WMD's to invade Iraq. Iranians will get the same treatment.

So what will probably happen if negotiations succeed, is that the zionist anglo american axis will start rebuilding their capabilities in the region and when the time is right come back at iran. But the next time will be bigger then this time. Just like this time was significantly bigger then the previous 12 day assualt.

The iranians just took 6 weeks of an absolute ass pounding, their capabilities and stockpiles have been diminished. The real question now is will iran be able to replenish her capabilities to the required level when the next round of attacks come.

So i wouldn't take this "theatre" of Isreal didn't know what the americans were doing nonsense, they obviously calculated that things are not going to plan and international sentiment is going against them because of the economic impact of the straights being closed. So they need to change strategy and they need some time to do that.

In my mind i think the"iranians" made another critical mistake. The war should have continued until the americans pull back from the immediate region. The iranians should have said we will only stop once you show a goodwill gesture in removing american/troops and assets from the region. Had they done that you would have known they were sincecre. Instead what we got from the americans were threats of total extermination, then the "agreement." Which shows that the way the situation worked out has worked out in the interests of america. Those interests are not the interests of iran.

They will attack again that is certain.

"There has never been such a political disaster in all of our history. Israel wasn't even at the table when decisions were made concerning the core of our national security."

My money would be on this being a lie. A deception. No way on earth that i believe that the zionists didn't know what was taking place. They got eyes and ears everywhere within the US administration.

Their plan will be to rebuild their forces in the region, replenish their material capacity and to change strategy and then to attack again.

Yes, Iran won 🙄
This is what a Pyrrhic victory should look like!
I can't list all the strategic targets destroyed by Iran's enemies. But considering that enemy aircraft destroyed hundreds of Iranian military and industrial facilities every day for 40 days...

The geopolitical genius of the wise Iranian ayatollahs was so brilliant that for the first time in history, a Muslim country simultaneously waged war against a Jewish, Christian, and several Muslim countries 🙄
Genius and wisdom literally poured from their long white beards 🙄

Iran again launched ballistic missile attacks on the Israeli city of Tel Aviv and the Negev region. Tel Aviv's Iron Dome air defense system has become less active due to its diminishing stockpile. Israel's air defenses are now using missiles manufactured in 2026. It's worth noting that the US and Israel also launch missile strikes against Iran daily.
