Yeah and then france and belgium will start to embargo the gun turret , now go and blame aselsan and mke for not doing their job making domestic gun turrent abd 105 or 120 smooth gun barrels .
Please people just be logical and be real and stop corrupting this amazing forum .
MKE already produce a copy of Rheinmetal smoothgun.

Since we don't have proper MBT's thanks to BMC, why don't we use Kaplan some sort of stop gap?
Looks like u dont know any thing .. what altay lakes is the power group ..its the same in kaplan .. they are imported too ...apart from they are totally different platforms .. it's not bmc fault the contract they get was for serial production provided that the engine are supplied from abroad .. when engines supply stuck .. developing such cutting edge technology engine is not possible within few years .

Yeah, they (SSB) should have started an engine project in parallel with Altay project. I guess, we would have a working prototype by now.

They already have working prototype .. the time when the project started was different from now .. technological infrastructure and knowledge is very insufficient .. BTW many similar projects have the same issue .. israel's merkava. Korean tank for example

Thats great .
I feel really sad for the turkish industry , dyring the last 10 years they should worked togrther hand in hand to produce weapons , yes turkey is a leader in the drone industry but thats not enought , and it lacks the engines .
But in the land equipment i reall6 dont know why we are still d9nt have improved land forces , i mean 8x8 , why we still dont have these kind of vehiclez in the army , and i saw that all the prototypes and competitors use caterpillar engine so why it took that long , i thought they took thay long waiting for local powerplant solutions .
And my dream vehicle is otokar tulpar with roketsan armor kit , bmc utku powerplant and aselsan turret stations with 40mm 35 , 105 120 mke guns .
I hope that turkey will reach that point but i am afraid that turkey doesnt have that time .
A big war is on the horizon, and the problem is that even if we don't want to participate they will drag us and for us to fight .

As far as i know contracts were signed with MTU for the engines and transmission then Germany suddenly embargoed Türkiye, our Defence sector learned it's lesson literally after the Altay fiasco.

that was expected.. do you think a nation that did not want to sell you 1000 tanks (think about the money think about the work) would sell you an engine? they thought these donkey turks (they see us very low) wont even be able to build 4 weels..let them do... and than they saw wow its even better than leo.. they definitivly dont get that engine no matter who is in charge.. some people have illusions over germans or europeans.. these folks are one of the worst biased nationalistic rasicts you ever can imagine...

as I said many years before we should have started an engine program much earlier and we should force everyone to use domestic engines transmission and so on no matter how they call themselves Otokar, fnss , bmc and so on... THEY MUST OTHERWISE THEY ARENT ALLOWED TO SELL (exceptions must be permitted)

and we should not have problems to largly copy engines if we need to I think we have that capability and its not a big task for us..

The thing is German companies want to work with Türkiye, it's their Gov. that's *bitching* around.

Of course such a embargo scenario should've been expected but they unfortunately made that mistake and stalled a finished project for many years. Lessons learned the hard way i guess...

What bothers me the most about the Altay project is something else not the engine.

MKEK produces 120 mm smoothgun under Rheinmetall license. Just like the Americans produce this gun under license from Rheinmetal!!! Copy and under license are different things. Humiliating ourselves is our best. Unfortunately!!
No American would dare to say such a thing. He would already have some complaints from manufacturers on the neck.

Wrong we are producing 120mm L55 under a Korean license. 120mm L44 is produced under a German license. We bought the complete IP package of Korean CN08 120mm L55 in the scope of the Altay project. So we can produce as much as we want anytime.

BMC Sakarya Arifiye Facilities

"We met with the children of our employees who won the university"

Date: 13.01.2022

Some Details:

There seems to be an afford to hide a part of the Factory with Plastic Panels but since the BMC ALTUG is like a tower you can take a glance at it.
They have already said that 5 ALTUG 8x8 have been produced in 09/2021 at an AA article.
Yet the production seems to be going on might be more Prototypes.

And you can see the Leotay from IDEF21 on the right.

Additonally a finished Prototype of Altug 8x8 can be seen on the right.
3 Firtina II with one being painted in Desert Camo.

The Altay has different Camo than what has been seen at IDEF 21 ( This one could be ALTAY PV1 )

1646418014302.png

ALTAY PV3 likely a revised ALTAY PV2 at IDEF21

It seems like Ethem Sancak is butthurt. He talked to some Russian TV and said Turkiye's NATO membership is a shame of the past and we didn't know that(as if he is speaking for Turkiye or Baykar company) Bayraktar drones would be used in such a manner.

I have been a defender of the BMC Altay story and not Ethem Sancak in person.

It is a known fact that drones are not meant to be used in an offensive manner which is part of Minsk agreements. The possibility of drones being used in such manner was always there but it was not foreseen as an imminent outcome. Russia was not meaning an invasion as Putin put it but turned out that they did mean an invasion. In the same manner as drones were not meant to be used in an offensive capacity but Turns out it was the only way to counter Putin's unintended invasion.
