Sorry, i was talking about development plus procurement.
When you said I class frigate 1.5 billion and Altay 2.5 billion this include development and procurement.
If i recall right the number of the program+Procurment is between 3-5 billion usd. ( 1 billion only the program cost).

When it comes to the I-Class/Altay then im refering to the development program excluding procurment.

Altay development cost was around 540 million according to wiki.
and also as far as i know 1.5 billion for I class is development plus procurement.

All the numbers are based on estimates that have been made in the forum. If im not mistaken it was @Yasar that mentioned that the hisar A+, and Hisar o+ have a program cost of aproximentaly 600 million dollars.
According to below site :

Quote:
The development cost of the short-range HISAR-A (15 km) and HISAR-O (25 km) is reportedly $332 million US and $255 million US, respectively.
Unquote.

We also know from open news resources that approximately 500million dollars were paid for the initial development cost of Altay tank.
But since then the amount of money spent on the engine development and new amour developments plus the active protection system developments all have to be included in to the cost of development of this tank.

Cost of development of Milgem is not known. I-Class is part of this program. Ada class ships according to below site cost 250-260 million dollar each. But that does not include original development costs.
But it must be remembered that there are development costs for I-Class as well, which incorporates technologies used in CAFRAD and a good deal of ancillary equipment development that had to be undertaken to due to embargoes like the VLS.

So it is not a cut and dry case of specific cost of development that you can quote. Somehow these will have to be recouped when selling the related products, be it a tank or a ship.

Yes, I'm with you brother! I was referring to the post you made on "Naval programs" page 176, when you listed the huge projects taking place in the Turkish defense industry. It's quite impressive what you guys have done in terms of the cost of the development. Let's say that the Altay tank program will have an estimated 1 billion dollars in cost. Even if it would be 10X in development cost, it would still be cheaper than the german Puma IFV which had a cost of 17 billion dollars. It's really fascinating how Turkey produces high-quality weapons at a low cost! Definitely a source of pride, and inspiration for other countries that are developing their defense industry.

Lets hope, Altay will do great on export front.
No one would be more happier than me if BD army choose Altay as replacement for our 250 old Chinese relics.
But only obstacle here is inflated cost. 13.75 million per unit is too much.

Worth the money! Hopefully Bangladesh can transform its armed forces within the coming decade! Turkey can be a reliable partner of Bangladesh in the future!

Milden pressure hull test section construction will commence.

Turkiye's defence industry has so much going on that we could make a 20 page list. Trying to keep it to only some of the most significant milestones.

I am not that learned about naval topics. Would what you've listed be a significant milestone?

Your list is accurate so far, thanks for the great effort.
I could add;
Milden pressure hull test construction,
Reis class 2. hull launching Q2-3 and commencing sea trials Q4
Reis class 3. hull transferring to dry dock Q3
AKYA SINKEX

As far as I remember the contract for 4 Hisar O+ batteries is 260 or 270 million Euro.
What is it about? Do you have any reliable link for the cost you mentioned?

Updated with first export of Akinci. Apparently, some units have already been delivered to Pakistan.

It would be interesting to see how Indians are gonna response to that.

Nevertheless Akinci is a serious platform.
Probably they will speed their MQ-9B acquisition.

India has extensive UAV projects with a very wide range. If successful they'll be one of the few countries with the capabilities of US, China, Israel, and Türkiye.
They already have started tests on one that looks like our Aksungur. UCAVs, swarm kamikaze, rotary UAVs are also in development.
