Haha ok. I’ll just ignore that you’re one guy on an Internet forum - trolling - and call it EU public opinion... and I hardly think Turkey is starting a war - Have a look at those maps, there is nothing fair and common sense about them. Just because you’re from the EU, doesn’t make you entitled to everything your way.
I actually said that both parties will eventually meet halfway....

I wanna ask one question to everyone. In our F16 video , Turkish F16's are block 40 right? They are not block 50 + ?

The only EU country willing to stick their head in trouble with Turkey is France, none of the others want any part of it. Especially considering that Greece is a continental fastland and not an island nation, so legally they grt nothing beyond 12 miles on island that do not infringe neighboring countries rights.

Even UN charter says so. Besides a signed treaty has imo presedence over UN charters. Which would mean the islands in aegean has only 3 mile waters. Which would be good for thise wanting to sail without being subject to Greek or Turkish laws. More free sea.

Outside France and Italy no other European country has any interests in eastern mediterranean. France is in a broader strategy of containing Turkish influence in the mediterranean. The Italians are a bit ambiguous about their intentions towards Turkey.

The French minister of defence announced the Charles de Gaulle would be deployed early september. Eastern Mediterranean would most likely be the destination.

Some news ;

The Charles de Gaulle will set sail in the coming days and its destination is confirmed to be eastern mediterranean (The AC and its escort could shortly take part in Operation Irini) ahead of Macron's visit to Greece on the 10th,it will reportedly carry 18 Rafales.

A joint defence bill will be signed with Greece during Macron's visit but its content is quite unknown now. Among the rumours,French troops will be sent to Greece in the Evros region near Turkey. Unknown if it is a permanent presence or just temporary. Either way French and Greek armies will conduct several exercices in the same region.

You dont find it odd,NATO against NATO?
If sh!t hits the fan,i dont think Macron can save face,no matter the outcome.
Macron is counting on a counter bluff by Erdogan but Erdogan isnt Erdogan if he doesnt go all in.

To this day, this man has had pretty big balls, if we are honest - he has done the talking wherever announced. Within the possible framework of course - but being able to make his point of view clear ... at least in Syria and Libya ...that makes it so explosive and dangerous for everyone..
During the talk show last night on CNN Türk, it was said that the government should use diplomacy to make it clear to the other NATO partners to what extent France and Greece are weakening NATO atm... both, in North Africa and in Syria, and the mediterranean sea. Apart from that, the French agents spied for the Russians and Greece signed an agreement against a NATO partner - the government must make it clear that the actions of FR and GR increase the pressure and influence of Russia on the EU and that NATO's ability to act is EXTREMELY weakened ...
Because that outweighs lobbyism and media propaganda through Armenia, Greece, and France. We must not forget that these two rather insignificant Nations are not NATO and not all of Europe...

Erdogan is actually testing the Europeans,he thinks they will not make any move,in great part thanks to the Germans who do everything to avoid any escalation.

Nobody knows how far France and Macron are willing to go,but there will be no backtracking now,France's credibility towards our Greek and Cypriot allies (who put lot of faith in France) is at stake here. So we are witnessing a reinforcement of the French military presence in the region.

The real question is how far Erdogan is willing to go ? Putting Nationalistic and sensationalist speeches for internal consumption aside ?

The real question is, if fighting starts, is France or any other backer of Greece willing to sacrifice troops? I'm talking hundreds, even thousands of troops for Greece's sake?

I doubt it.

Not because he wants to but because he has to,the answer is:All the way!
As @Webslave stated,is Macron going to take that risk?

irrelevant, doesn't matter in the end you have to split blood. And we are willing to go so far. The question is France ready for that?

Greece is a EU member and I haven't met one person that disagrees that EU should stand by them against Turkey and I live in the UK who just left the EU.....if it comes to this, from London to Sofia, Greece won't be alone.
Let's put that to a test then.

I don't want to disturb your discussion - here is a short but important thought about the conflict -

@rusencenter President Prof. Dr. @moskvankara:

"The activities of Greece in the Aegean and the Mediterranean mostly take place with the initiative of France. If this crisis deepens TR may place S 400 at KKTC, or connect Turkish Cyprus to the Turkish Mainland via referendum."
