After Zap and Avaşin in Iraq, there is also Turkish Armed Forces activity in Hakurk.

Recently, Turkish Armed Forces troops were deployed on the hill line south of Goraspi and Ibn Diwan.

Another event that we say is irrelevant in October. This hill is empty. The region had been entered for search and destroy operation before. PKK even collected and shared the camera traps of the Turkish Armed Forces on this hill. It is thought it is a suitable hill for a permanent base. But it's late for mid-October. Most likely there will be a withdrawal around November.

Turkish Armed Forces units were deployed to the Tele (1), Ardel (2) and Balinda lines on the Avaşin line with an air assault operation.

Terrorist organization PKK: We have withdrawn our HPG and YJA Star forces from Makhmour in a secret, organized and planned manner for security reasons. PKK: As of now, we have no forces left in the Makhmour Refugee Camp.

Some sources report that the Iraqi army entered the areas left by the PKK in Makhmour.

We first saw Mugin-3 (originally Chinese made) in Turkiye in 2021. Then in Syria. This year we started to see a lot of them in the Claw Lock region. PKK has not been able to make any progress in 2 years on this model. They are trying to use it as a kamikaze drone.

According to the analysis they probably launch it with a catapult somewhere in Gara. It also needs very little distance for take off. This is low quality UAV. It has a price tag of $3000-4000. There are probably many PKK UAVs that were shot down that we don't know about.

There are violent clashes between Iraqi/Hashd al-Shaabi and Peshmerga in Makhmour/Karachok mountain. There are dead and injured people on both sides. Local sources report that Peshmerga captured 2 regions from Iraq/Hashd al-Shaabi.

Looks like Peshmerga are trying to capture the checkpoint and tunnel areas of PKK around Makhmur in a push to limit PKK's movement in the area. We all know that PKK's alleged withdrawal from Makhmur is a lie. PKK freely operates in areas under the control of the Iraqi Army and Hashdi Shaabi.

In the last visit of Minister Fidan to Iraq he clearly warned the Iraqi administration regarding this issue and urged Iraq to recognize PKK as a terrorist organization. PKK's main branch in the area is YBS and it is taking place within the Hashdi Shaabi's structure.

Just as a reminder and context:

Turkish UAVs hit a vehicle in the Sidekan area on 11th August 2020. Later it was discovered that while Iraqi Border Guard 2nd Border Division Commander Muhammed Rashid Sulayman and 3rd Unit Commander of the 2nd Border Division Command, Lieutenant Colonel Zubayr Hali Tajeddin lost their lives, it was announced that Lieutenant Colonel Husamaddin Abdurrahman Hasan and a soldier were injured. It was also discovered that the so called "Commander of Hakurk Area" Code Name "Agit Garzan" Murat Halko was killed in the strike. The UCAV strike was carried after intelligence came about Iraqi Army and PKK meeting.

Response came from the Presidency of Iraq saying:

“The Turkish army's continuous violations within Iraqi territory are a dangerous violation of Iraqi sovereignty and we condemn it.”

Response also came from the Iraq Asayb Ahli Haq armed Shia organization closely tied to the Hashdi Shaabi network urging all political parties in Iraq to unite on this issue.

Organizations tied to the Hashdi Shaabi later carried out attacks against Turkish bases in the north of Iraq using 107mm Iranian made Fajr rockets and kamikaze UAVs (the same type of attacks we see at the moment against US military targets within Iraq).

Peshmerga has made a lot of reinforcements. There are even additional armored BRDMs in between. They also brought a dozer. Iraq/Hashd al-Shaabi is bringing military reinforcements to the region.

Within the scope of Operation Claw-Lock, Turkish Armed Forces troops were deployed on the 2000-altitude hill located on the Great Matin Mountain line and west of Amedi Hill.

It looks like a permanent base is being established in the area.

Thus, we returned to the maximum control area reached last year. Area control on the 22km line from Seri Mountain to the 2000-altitude hill on the Great Matin Mountain passed back to the Turkish Armed Forces.

Last year we withdrew from this hill without staying long, this year a permanent base will be established in October.

Initial reports says that in result of the operation 2 vehicles carrying PKK terrorists in the north of Hakurk were hit. Nine PKK terrorists in the vehicles were killed.

PKK sources confirmed the airstrikes. They reported airstrikes for the whole day around the Amedi area. We have reports of renewed airstrikes today around the Amedi area.

The identity of one of the Peshmerga casualties during the recent clashes with Hashdi Shaabi is revealed. He is the commander of the 18th Regiment of the KDP Peshmerga Salih Zirari.

He was first wounded in the fighting and died today or yesterday. It is also a mystery to me why he was on the field where the clashes took place. It is possible that he was preparing for some kind of negotiations. Unfortunately we don't know the details of the event.

It is noteworthy to say that PKK connected media speculated that a MIT officer embedded with the Peshmerga forces was martyred during the clashes. I am not sharing this so you take it as a credible information but just as information on PKK's media activities within the context of these clashes.

Since operation Claw-Lock started in mid-July, we thought it would pass at a slow pace and without making any progress. But we can say that even if the operation had started in May, it would not be much different from the current situation. We see intense work throughout the operation area.

Most base areas on the front lines have been or are being modernized. New outposts are being established in more than 10 locations. There are road works for the new outposts. The weather starts to deteriorate in mid-November. I hope that the needs of those on the field will be met in the next 2 weeks.
