Not really us supporting the rebels was punishment for the assad regime for supporting terrorist elements against Turkey for decades.

Tit for tat. In the late 90s Turkish generals were gearing up for war against Syria while the politicians wanted to back down from it.

Our biggest problem was relying on the stupid rebels to finish off assad while beating around the bush for too long also allying with the stupid usa who betrayed us for the ypg terrorists then you have isis aholes appearing.

Lets not forget it was the assad regime that supported al qaeda in iraq and allowed fighters to cross into iraq from the Syrian border.

Then it was a dumb move, AK party turned Syria into a russian and american playground where the pkk is directly protected by both.

It backfired because the dumbass rebels were too busy fighting each other.

We could have finished it off before the Russians joined in.

We lost valuable time due to the stupid peace process. We basically allowed the pkk to spread in other parts of the regions while agreeing that they dont harm Turkey. What a dumb move.

Lots of dumb moves the akp has done I have a feeling the opposition is just going to continue this bs we have a politician aka Illay aksoy of iyi party who worships these baathist animals.

Operation statement in Syria: The issue has already been discussed with the USA

While messages came from Ankara that a new operation is planned in northern Syria, a senior security official speaking to Reuters agency said that "preparations are being made".

"The operation will begin after all preparations are complete," the official said.

'THE ISSUE HAS ALREADY BEEN ADDRESSED WITH THE USA'

"We are in coordination with Russia on the issue. The issue has already been discussed with the United States," said the unnamed official.
The sources of Reuters among the forces supporting Turkey also claimed that Turkey has recently sent military equipment for a possible operation.

'THERE IS A LITTLE TIME LEFT'

While it was claimed that the armed groups were shifted to the vicinity of the areas to be targeted in the possible operation, Yusuf Hamud, the spokesman of the Ankara-backed 'Syrian National Army' group, claimed that there was very little time left for them to be 'fully ready' for the operation.

Finally, Presidential Spokesperson İbrahim Kalın made a statement regarding a possible operation in Syria: "Everyone should know that we will not turn a blind eye to any threat." Kalin said, "We are already on the field in Syria. The memorandum was renewed recently. We have to take measures against terrorist organizations. If you think about the Turkey-Syria border line, securing it is our priority. For this, the TAF is always on the alert. With full determination in terms of Turkey's security. "Everyone should know that we are in danger and that we will not turn a blind eye to threats," he said.

President Tayyip Erdogan, on his return from Rome, where he met with US President Joe Biden, said, "Of course, when the operation needs to be done, an operation will be carried out. There is no stepping back from it." He stated that they had once again agreed to work together, but did not give details.

YPG commander swapped out with a new face by PKK. Let's hope his face is plastered all over the interpol etc. and as PKK member. A new commander sought after interpol will brand YPG/SDF as what it truly is. Terrorist organization.

Yesterday, Yasin Kobani, the so-called commander of the PKK/YPG in Aynel Arab, who was in charge of controlling the weapons and ammunition, was killed with a silencer gun by unknown people while he was sleeping. Yasin Kobani had been sent from Kandil to the region in the past months.

My take at the situations in Iraq and the Syrian connection below.

The footage is related to the tunnel system operation in Avasin/Kartal. AT-4s are usually procured from the Iraqi market but we have another more serious problem. Their ATGM stocks are still going strong. This week PKK shared a video where they attack our soldiers with a 9M113 Konkurs. According to analyst and weapons specialist Calibre Obscura the logistics corridor between Syria and Iraq may be still in tact or they have a huge stockpile of ATGMs. Judging by the high number of ATGM strikes and the mystery about their huge ATGM stocks I feel that MIT could do some fine corrections to their logistics soon.

Possible MIT intervention?
Very possible as there are many sleeper cells in YPG territory that are conducting sabotages connected to the opposition forces. Such sleeper cells are responsible for many attacks against PKK/YPG forces in PKK/YPG areas (not to be confused with ISIS cells). Such operations are not officially claimed by MIT as they are not conducted directly by MIT personnel.

Syrian rebels mobilise for possible Turkish attack on Kurdish fighters

AMMAN, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Syrian rebels say they are standing by to join a new offensive threatened by Turkey against Kurdish YPG fighters in northern Syria, as Ankara eyes another campaign against a group it views as a threat to national security.

Turkey has mounted three offensives into Syria since 2016 against the YPG, which Ankara deems an enemy due to its close links to a Kurdish group that has been fighting an insurgency in Turkey for decades.

Tensions have spiked since two Turkish policemen were killed a month ago in a missile attack in northern Syria that Turkey said was carried out by the YPG. President Tayyip Erdogan said the attack was "the final straw", though Ankara has given no indication an operation is imminent.

Rebel sources say Turkey recently sent military supplies to its Syrian allies as part of preparations for possible action, and rebel fighters have been redeployed towards areas that are expected to be targeted in any new attack.

"Moving to a state of complete readiness now needs only a short period before any military operation is declared," said Major Youssef Hamoud, a spokesperson for Turkey-backed rebels called the National Army.

'NO STEPPING BACK'

Previous Turkish incursions have been preceded by lengthy build-ups and large movements of Turkish forces at the border, which have yet to be observed this time.

Ankara has not committed to action and has given little detail on plans if a decision is taken.

After meeting U.S. President Joe Biden in Rome last weekend, Erdogan was quoted by Turkish media as saying: "When it is time to carry out an operation, of course an operation will be done. There is no stepping back from that."

A senior Turkish security official said preparations were being made. "The operation will start when all preparations are completed," the official said.

Turkish efforts to crush the YPG have been complicated by YPG ties with Russia and the United States, which have both worked with the YPG and another force it leads, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), during the Syrian war.

"We are in coordination with Russia on the matter. The issue was addressed with the United States already," the senior Turkish security official said.

SDF sources say Turkey has stepped up attacks using drones and artillery fired from Turkish territory targeting YPG positions in the last two weeks.

We should have supported Saddam against Iran.

Staying neutral was a dumb move.

Iran regardless if its Secular or Mullah ran they have always been hostile to our interests.

Not only did Turkey not support Saddam but the no fly zone that was protecting the Kurds/PKK of northern Iraq was being flown out of Turkey.

For now there is no official confirmation by YPG as far as I know but if the rumors come true that means YPG is fearing that the US will abandon them and they orientate themselves to a new protector in the name of Assad/IRGC. It is known that the Regime pressured YPG to join forces or face annihilation in front of TSK so the rumors and official statements should be tracked with priority.
