Yep. This is the US telling Erdogan to fuck off. Erdogan does not have escalation dominance with the US, the US can go higher than TR can.
Yes but hitting civilian infrastructure like power distribution and oil isn't going to be the right way moving forward.
1.) That stuff is cheap and easy to replace, it won't cost the US even as much as the anka they shot down. The revenues won't even be worth that much. The EU would even be convinced to provide monetary aid. It's not a big cost to them compared to TR's economic situation.
2.) Civilians deciding to leave as a result of a loss of civilian infrastructure will go to TR
3.) No infrastructure, no Syrian return in the future.
The assassination of the PKK should still be the first priority, but you must understand that the conflict has evolved now sadly the the PKK now have a state of their own in the form of the SDF army numbers 100,000 men.I think the current strategy is stupid so far and the strikes weak. It's just for show and gas. The assassination of PKK leaders was more effective.
Stop ypg proxy of west and arm the majority suffering with batch’s of air systems. Sunni never surrender to YPG hegimony and know the PKK was project of Assad dictator who the Syrian people rose up against. You need to help the fighters if you want exterminate biji biijis terrorist.Escalating with the US would hurt rather than help here. The aim should be to destroy the logistic, military, and economic viability of CENTCOM's PKK project, which doesn't seem to be well-supported within the US by any other faction. The hope is they force Centcom to cut losses and end their failed experiment. If you escalate with the US, you hand an argument to Centcom to rally everybody else behind them.
A downing of a US asset should be in order, we can't let them get away with their crimes.
It's time to prohibit US jets in Northern Syria and at the same time displace the stationing of US troops from bases
Both are terrible Ideas, for now.
In a way, it shows that Türkiye is having an effect on CENTCOM's PKK project.
1) it is not only about making it more costly to the US but also putting pressure on the SDF to break up, or at least stop, their nation-building projects sort of like how the SDF uses the HTS to destabilise the SNA.
2) The civilians leaving the area means that there would be fewer people for the YPG to tax, indoctrinate, and draw from for manpower.
3) Türkiye was never going to place the Syrians in the areas controlled by the YPG anyway so that isn't a problem.

The only way forward now is to start nation-building in the areas Türkiye controls and destabilise the areas they control while making sure that none of the violence spills over into Türkiye proper.

The same strikes occurred last year, this account says they were repaired in 2 days.
Yes, shows total failure of the government last two decades that the PKK is a state now, one I think Erdogan is delaying negotiations with until after elections.
Doubt will happen. Not the smart choice i think. Whether this was centcom or a local commander using their authority, it doesn't really help US' case re their foothold in Syria.I think downing a couple U.S. drones might be in order. It's only fair, it will be a threat for our troops, I can speculate right now even.

And yet you already highlighted that it does put pressure on them in your earlier state which is important as it slows down their state-building project.
Rather than negotiating Türkiye could always go with the nuclear option of building more dams up north and stopping the Euphrates River from flowing down. Those areas can never truly be independent of Turkey as they rely on the mercy of Turkey to even exist.
If any other nation were in Türkiye's shoes, they would have already used weaponised Water by now, after all, the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers are the lifeblood of Syria and Iraq without them both would be nothing but lifeless deserts incapable of sustaining a state functioning state.
