Weaponizing water is a big issue in the west and the UN, this will lead to escalation. Also Iraq and Syria will watch how TR uses water.

Everything will eventually lead to an escalation if they are able to build a functioning state the difference is whether it is Türkiye or them that escalates it.

The good news is that whether Türkiye does something or not eventually those areas will be inhabitable as as global warming naturally shrinks the rivers. in fact, Iraq is already suffering from draughts due to that. If Türkiye is smart it can make a deal with Iraq to give it extra water from the Euphrates River by transferring it to Iraq by the Tigris.

The entire thing could be tried as Türkiye assisting Iraq with its water shortage problem.

Found this gem. IRGC supports PKK, our government has banned South Azerbaijan political activists and tv channels from entering Turkey on Iran's request. In this relation, Iran has all the leverage and we have nothing. This meekness is shameful.

Türkiye needs to start building up a network with south Azerbaijani Turks for when Iran will collapse in the future. It can't just sit on its hands as it did with Syria it must be already to move in immediately into south Azerbaijan.

What's your definition of functioning? I think you would mean international recognition of automous status?

Regarding Iraq - yes, but I think in this case with water Iraq has the uncontrolled leverage in this situation as if it becomes uninhabitable, major amounts of the population will move to TR, more than the entire Syrian civil war.

This would be untenable for the current political situation in TR and I think in the future. It is in TR's interest that this doesn't happen, because the west has already blocked the gates and will simply give a small amount of aid to TR to deal with it. Global warming will be a big headache in the future with climate refugees.

@Bogeyman @Sanchez and others.

*The drone was carrying out strikes in ROZ. (US declared Restricted operating zone)

*Local US commander made the call.

*This was a regrettable incident.

*Turkey is a very important NATO ally.

*Bottom line is, Secretary Blinken and Foreign minister Hakan Fidan had a very productive discussion about that.

Edit- My bad, he is talking about secretary of defence and defence minister.

There is no need to go this far. As a Turkish journalist, Yunus Paksoy directly asks the Pentagon spokesman everything we are curious about.

There is no need to talk a lot and to get very emotional over a downed drone. This is what drones are for anyway- to operate in hostile environments without any dangers for our pilots.

Just stay calm and bomb the shit out of YPG's asses while the Americans watch from the first row. There are enough old bombs and missiles in the inventories that can be thrown in Syria rather than rotting in the inventories. :D

Müttefikliğin gözü kör olsun.

Being an ally of the US really is more dangerous than being its enemy.

Russia is a bear while the USA is a snake.

Bears attack you on the front while snakes bide their time.

I say the snake is more deadly.

People forget that the US navy nearly came close to sinking the Bandirma ship.

That ship which Ataturk was on to reach Samsun.

Learn your history. In geopolitics its all a game of chess but its naive to believe in nato alliance or any other alliance.

Because alliances dont last forever.

Regrettable ?

US knew what drone it was before it came within 500m, this drone doesn't need to be within 500m to launch munitions. The US has systems to monitor everything in that airspace. Wouldn't the anka have IFF?

The US did it on purpose to change the calculations on the TR side and introduce a cost.

The call and statements is just to mitigate what people would say about NATO - NATO clash.

Respectfully, looks like you already made your mind.

I don’t wan't to sound too clever, but i think it is important to have a closer look at military procedures in Combat zone and take them seriously. (without any inherent geopolitical aspect.) On their own right, they are quite complicated and sometimes these mishaps just happens.

And no, i don’t think MIT drone would have NATO IFF.

To me it seems, they are telling the truth about the shot-down being local commander's call based on initial assessment.

Everything will eventually lead to an escalation if they are able to build a functioning state the difference is whether it is Türkiye or them that escalates it.

Yes, this is why its important to be proactive now. We already wasted too many years doing too little.

To create Kurdistan in Iraq they needed Turkiye by their side, they achieved this. To ruin Assad enough that he loses control over the north of the region they needed Turkiye to help them do it. Well Erdogan helped them do enough to weaken Assad that they could wiggle their way into the north and set up a PKKistan that is only half alive.

Now if they got their Kurdistan in Syria in the sense that it becomes a functioning autonomous region that extended across the entire border. The next stage would be to show Erdogan as a Saddam and Turkiye as an enemy state.

If we look before the war started in Syria, Erdogan and AK party were shown positively in the western media. Since the war started we have been dehumanised to such an extent that they were even running stories show Turkiye as being behind Isis and that the PKK/YPG were the heroes fighting against the evil Turks.

At this point now it doesnt matter what paper you pick up, the slogun has shifted to Kurdish fighters. They are not referred to as PKK terrorists anymore. There crimes are not mentioned to the contrary when erdogan and Turkiye is mentioned in respect to the PKK, they frame it as an oppressive Turkish state that is crushing her Kurdish population.

Its is my belief that before the feto/ak party falling out, the american plan was to make the Turks give the south east away themselves, first autonomy then later separation. Our government and media were preparing the public for it, they even showed Ocalan as a hero who was oppressed by the secular Turkish state and its fascist generals.

Anyway, you want to avert a serious conflict with the USA over the PKK project, it must be crippled in Syria completely. Because if they get in Syria Turkiye is next.

And let me add something, Kurds do not fall for their tricks, they are trying to use you the same way they used the Armenians. Its divide and conquer, nothing more.

From a purely geopolitical perspective, a weakened Turkiye and further divided middle east is good for Russia, America and Europe, its especially good for Isreal. This is why you see them coalesce together against Turkiye despite having their differences in other theatres.
