The russians with the bashar regime already tried negotiate with the ypg/pkk, and they rejected the offer to give the 30 km buffer zone to be under the controll of the bashar regime. Seems like the americans are there to stay. I understand your concern but with the elections coming soon i dont know if erdogan wants to risk an embargo again. Even china condemned an possible operation by turkey. The pressure is real, and turkey is Alone. This is a choice that the turkish leadership have to calculate. Everything has its time, and i dont know if its the right time now. I also want to see the operation by the way, and im very eager to see it.

Everyday we wait we lose further, move now and strike the Russian side first. The Ukrainian war at best will last another year, it could even be over in 6 months. Turks cannot waste this opportunity.

Whose issue is the Syrian mess? Who calls the shots as to whether Turkeys moves or not? Which political party took us into this Syrian nightmare? Entirely rational and reasonable to focus on AK party since their the ones calling the shots. And remember its your boys barking "we can come suddenly one night" if you had any self respect you would feel embarrassed by this regime.
So this means that every success that Turkey has, is due to AK party because they are calling the shots?

And understand this if they sanction us and embargo us and we go down some hard years, its better it happens now before the PKKistan is formed. Because whenever you do move they will sanction and embargo you anyway. So go earlier rather then later.

Turks have to be ready that the day of leaving NATO and removing all american bases assets from Turkey is fast approaching. If they are building a terrorist state on your border to destabilise and harm your entire nation, that is an enemy forget an ally.

I can hardly wait for our army to be stronger, that’s clear. But there is some logical issue here. If the reason we are not making the operation is because we don’t have TFX, wasn’t this known to the government before? Did they realize it only now? Why were they then talking about it so much? I think the hindrance is rather on the economic and sanctions side, but again how come they didn’t expect any sanctions before? If they knew it, why were we talking about it publicly since months or years now? Can they not clarify these things at the background and then only talk about if you are actually going to DO it.
It is not like the 1974 Cyprus events, there is no embargo situation. A region called the shitty Syria is in turmoil, it's unclear who is who. We can raze it to the ground with bogus excuses, it doesn't matter who believes it or not.

We must clear it of terrorists and bring peace and democracy.

Right. GoatsMilk has to understand that Türkiye and Turks are fighting a war. Not a party. Not a single man.

I have the pakistani on ignore, the single man calls the shots. You ignore that and you allow that single man to hide from his responsibility. After all he even changed the constitution to give himself more power and more say claiming it would benefit the nation, well here we are what are you waiting for me "we can come suddenly one night".

Now had you not removed the armies power to call the shots, i would be levelling blame at their feet too, but then again i dont think they would have waited 10 years to something.

Goats laying down the hard truths. The state is incubating a huge, huge existential problem for future generations. We'll all be dead, but our children will be the ones fighting on their own soil when they come to partition them.

@GoatsMilk @Barry Let’s get real, as long as the national security is being politicized, the PKK will be always there. Erdogan doesn’t want to move because he fears US, European and Russian sanctions. If they sanction Turkiye, the common people will suffer in their daily life. If that happens Erdo will lose the next election. Well, normally he doesn’t even have the right to represent himself for a third time, at least according to the constitution. If he wouldn’t represent himself maybe he would have launched a full scale ops in Syria by now, probably he would have nothing to lose, but here we are instead.

Another thing is that Turkiye is too much dependent on it’s energy. What I mean by that is that the country imports a huge amount of gas from both Russia and Iran, and unfortunately these countries use that as a leverage to counter Turkish interest. It would be an absolute necessity, in my opinion, to reduce this gas dependence. By all means. I know, easier said than done, but it needs to be done. You simply can’t rely on your hostile neighbors for your energy needs.

You are 100% right
But the true problem is how to feed around 84 million ppl (and this isnt counting the refugees) without cheap gas?
Germany's population is also 83 million with 2 to 3 times the size of Turkish economy and yet it is on the verge of collapse due to gas!

We need to effectively show Russia that we can play hard ball as well. Erdogan should just go all in and ensure the 30 km safe zone and if Russia threatens, then just increase the interest rates and sell more weapons to Ukraine... nothing more

Some exodus of foreign investments is expected by then but all is too cheap when it comes to giving the middle finger to both Russia and the US

You are totally right but yet i cannot accept it, because to acccept it is to accept the great danger being prepared for Turkey. We have to move and if it means he loses the elections and Turks suffer for a few years of sanctions/embargoes, it has to be done. Because what they plotting is full on nationwide insurrection, it may take another couple of decades but that's what they are moving towards. For this plot to be feasible they need to create their pkkistan principality in syria/iraq.

Its literally a rerun of what they did with the armenians against the Ottomans. Where the Russian controlled part of armenia operated in the same way as the russian/american controlled area of pkkistan. From there they will funnel in money and material to support a nationwide revolt against the Turkish state.

Middle East will always be in turmoil because its been the centre of the earth for centuries.

Thats why so many empires controlled it and you have the Americans and nearly everybody digging in.

People forget how the second wave of the Industrial Revolution began with Oil.

Middle East will only get stability if its controlled by an Empire with an iron fisted approach.

The Caliphates done it the Ottomans done it the Romans and the Persians.

Democracy and Tribalism dont go together.

Isis lost all their fighters and valuable commanders while they lost huge sway of territory.

They will never come back.

Insurgent groups who turned themselves into a state actually went back to being groups because governing is a pain the ass as they inherit the problems of said government they were fighting in the first place.
