Druze rebelled in Caramana, 10 km away from the capital Damascus in Syria.


Damascus Internal Security Command launched a large patrol convoy on the road to Caramana district, where Druze live densely.

In addition, reinforcements were sent to all checkpoints at the entrances and exits of the district and inspections were increased more frequently.

Today, Druze supporters of Hekmat al-Hijiri protested against the Syrian government and reiterated their support for the separatist Hijiri.

I don't think anything will be done in Caramana. Caramana's end will eventually be like the end of Şeyh Maksut and Eşrefiye.

The current activity is to upset the stomachs of those who are sick, to make them lose sleep, and to give the message that the State is on the alert.

The druze project is destined to fail unless Israel commits militarily to connect druze lands with Israel through boots on the ground. Israel, on the other hand, will never commit to a military campaign unless Syria's supply lines from Turkey, Jordan, and Iraq are cut off which are extremely hard to do with the removal of US troops and Turkey controlling 95% of Syria's soil

Furthermore, with every passing day, Turkey gets stronger and the gap with Israel gets bridged and the same for Syria. Israel knows that and are trying to disrupt Syria through third-rate drug-dealing druze alliances and ISIS attacks

The base was located just 70km from turkish border; where are the AD systems? Where are the radars? Where are turkish fighter jets that ought to counter such attacks; if this was a turkish attack near the Golan heights, then you would have seen 3 squadrons of Israeli fighter jets ready to counterattack

This was a signal by Israel that they wont allow Syria to acquire "certain" offensive capabilities and they are ready to revert Syria to the stone age if needed. In other words, Israel wants Syria weak enough thag when Israel starts to expand, none can go against it

It’s that Türkiye’s presence in Syria is still concentrated mostly in the north, while huge parts of the country remain a grey zone where outside actors feel free to hit empty buildings knowing nothing meaningful will follow. If we had a broader, deeper presence across Syria — troops, infrastructure, or even a clearer integrated security framework ..these “tests” wouldn’t keep happening.

Israel hitting an abandoned base with no casualties isn’t some big escalation. It’s them signalling that they know exactly where the limits are and that nothing serious will come back from it. That’s the humiliating part. As long as Syria isn’t treated as fully tied into Türkiye’s security space, these little probes will continue.

Let’s see if there’s any kind of response this time, because if not, it just makes us look unserious again.

Mind you that this strike came after Syrian sources released a video showing the first flight of functioning Sukhoi fighter jets being operated by Syrian pilots. Israel has legitimate reason to be scared since if not stopped now, then 5-10 years from now and the Syrian flag may actually fly over the Golan heights again; something that Israel will never allow

I just read this . It claims to be abandoned base.

People need to stop pretending this is some shocking escalation. Israel does this because they know Türkiye won’t escalate. Erdogan, like every Islamist government, avoids direct confrontation with Israel. Even if a base was full of children, AKP would still avoid a real response. Same story with Iran. Everyone talks big, nobody acts.

The bigger problem is what I said earlier... our presence in Syria is still limited to certain zones. Until Türkiye has a full, nationwide footprint , military, political, or administrative... strikes like this will keep happening. Israel knows exactly where the red lines are, and they know these empty-base hits won’t trigger anything. It’s basically them testing patience because the map still treats Syria as a grey area.

And realistically, what can Türkiye do right now? We don’t even have KAAN in service yet, and Israel is backed by the US and Europe. A full takeover of Syria is the only scenario that would actually change the equation, but that’s a massive commitment.

So what’s left? Either Israel keeps doing whatever they want and we just absorb it, or we finally show that Syria isn’t a free-for-all. As much as I laugh at AKP’s cowardice, this whole situation is a bad look for Türkiye and for all Turks.
