Also it appears the Delta Crescent waiver was not extended with Biden:

Which is a big blow to the SDF. They were exporting oil through Barzani's to Turkey. I'm not sure if this is permanent, as Delta Crescent on Twitter argued a lot. But they also cried. See their tweets. There is a chance Biden is trying to get Russian companies or alternate companies to take it.

There is the alternate option...during the meeting on 14th Biden will give Turkey the opportunity to buy the oil directly here and be the only buyer, creating another Barzani statelet that Turkey will accept.

In return, Turkey will annex the areas it has occupied such as Idlib. I do not think it is a great deal. Idlib will be a huge problem in future. We would be absorbing a massive population, some of which are absolutely radical. But rumours say Turkey is currently building a governor's office in Idlib.

For Erdogan to survive, US support would help him a lot. Perhaps annexation of land is something that will as well, bringing the ummah together or whatever.

Indicator will be yarubiye gate.

Russia also think Turkey will annex:

Syrian army shelling is more frequent and deeper parts of Idlib are being targetted.

Wrong my friend. You truly lack a vision
Firstly, if i had the chance to annex Idlib, i fqing will
You may ask why? The only problem in syria is the YPG. Turkey has cleaned Idlib from the YPG/PKK; thus, those who are present in idlib are sunni majority which will be beneficial for turkey. Not only will it give turkey more land, it will also help in relocating syrian refugees to these areas. Moreover, idlib has potential oil reserves and may have other natural resources such as gold etc!
If you are worried about sunni radicals, then just give turkish nationality to only the common ppl on the pretext that they learn turkish etc.... and as majority of syrian sunni like erdo they will help the AKP. Annexing idlib will bring great benefits but i dont think usa will allow it nor france or uae tbh! You can also use the radicals to play proxy wars in other areas

However if erdo actually did it before 2023, then kudos to erdo and you guys would be dumb not to vote for him (though i dont like the AKP OR CHP as a party) and I dont think he will be able to annex the land

I am aware of zero oil fields in Idlib. Potential ? unlikely. But it would be welcome to be wrong.

Idlib was never controlled by the YPG to my knowledge . It is controlled currently by HTS.

Some of these gangs there are absolute criminals, would Turkey with current ruling party come down on them ?

Idlib was and is an rebel stronghold. There was never PKK control in Idlib. Extremist/radicals gradually replaced rebels starting like 2013. Currently Idlib is the last stronghold. Meaning radicals all over the came to Idlib after regime regained back territories. Idlib is complete swamp.

These gang of criminals cant touch us. We warned hts many times you touch us and we will destroy you hence why they left us alone. We allow hts to fight the regime so they both weaken each other.

We used a proxy fsa group to dislodge the jihadists but they lost pretty badly and got wiped out.

The oil in Syria is minuscule and there is no demand for that. Not with the current market prices, not with the quantity and certainly not with the market trend.

I know that ur hoping that there wil be another barzanistan but I will have to dissapoint you, its just a matter of time til we fully crush the remaining PKK in Syria, what happens collectively to the kurds- thats up to Bashar

You seem very obsessed with Akthar. So much that it affects how you percieve what he writes. It’s not a healthy approach.

The oil from Syria still surpasses what Turkey has. If I recall correct somewhere around 2-3 bill usd a year.

Saithan, u have to be able to spot an agenda as a mod and this is something where u fail to do so, probably the lack of experience of engaging with trolls, i dont know. Im however aware of his intentions and quite direct in reminding him that he shouldnt get his hopes high because it will disappoint him at the end and if it wasnt for me he would have gotten away with a lot of misinformation.

Critics ask, “What revenue?” Neighboring Turkey, which has little oil of its own, would be the obvious market. But Turkey is doing everything it can to ensure that that a yet another semi-independent Kurdish entity similar to the Kurdistan Regional Government does not take root. Oil exported via Turkey played a big role in bolstering the Iraqi Kurds’ autonomy.

As Ankara sees things, it’s not about to repeat that “mistake” and has been unremittingly hostile to the Syrian Kurds ever since a peace process that it was conducting with its own Kurds broke down in 2015.

The Delta Crescent Energy deal has deepened Turkish paranoia about the United States’ intentions in northeastern Syria — namely that it may be midwifing a Kurdish state that would seek to incorporate large chunks of Turkey’s Kurdish-majority southeast. Those suspicions have been amplified by the fact that the SDF and the Syrian Democratic Council are led by individuals who were formerly part of the Kurdistan Workers Party militia that is fighting Turkey.

Feel free to look at my previous posts. I guess I take a more critical view but objective view. I can be wrong, that is ok.

In my previous post suggesting a Barzani statelet situation occuring, I don't understand why this viewpoint makes me the bad guy. Turkey needs oil. There are two other ways I saw Turkey getting the oil, Turkey invading Syria in 2014 to fight ISIS, or the 2015 peace process being successful and folding in the North East Syria as part of Turkey during the war.

I think the window for a full-scale invasion has closed with Biden, unless Turkey offers something big. I think this because an invasion did not occur in better circumstances.

I have posted things that are of value, no ? they don't have to be right but they invite discussion ? I don't think it's fair for you to label me as FETO/PKK. Or am I brainwashing you by posting my thoughts on this Thai basket weaving forum ?

No, I have primarily seen misinformation and half assed attempts to whitewash the kck.

I dont think its the right type of discussion which ur inviting to tho when folks have to constantly refute ur questionable claims.

Ur provoking me by following the narratives of the PKK and FETO, when it comes to FETO, i havent considered that yet but now where ur coming up with this urself, I will take this into account.

Those can hardly be called houses in this day and age though, not even refugees would live in them, either do it correctly or let it be, pure waste of money.
I think it’s the cheapest way of building which is why it’s done. It would cost too much to build houses with several floors

More stupid passivism bs seriously.

TSK has its hands tied.

YPG in Afrin/Tal Rifaat is backed by Russia. They allow YPG there to put pressure to Turkey. Most of them come through Manbij. If we were to start operations in these areas. It could quickly evolve to Turk-Russian clashes. Where both sides will directly/indirectly try to target each other. It did happen. If Turkey wanted to go its own way and start an operation, politics aside, one of the biggest disadvantages would be lack of ground based air defense systems. Russia will use aircraft, air-to-ground bombs, SRBMs, artillery to try to attack Turks.

Turkey needs to equip the Syrian rebels with the same capabilities as the Palestinian factions in Gaza. Cheap and easy to manufacture rockets and kamikaze drones using COTS components. For each and every bomb that gets dropped on them, they fire a rocket at whoever hit them.

They could for example simplify the TOROS 230/260 with fixed fins and simpler solid-fuel mixture, give the rebels some Chinese (lathe) machines and install the rockets on trucks and in underground launching pits. With this in place Turkey can relegate responsibilty of retaliation to the rebels.

Turkey needs to drastically improve its poor asymmetric warfare strategy and tactics. Otherwise they'll get outmaneuvered by Iran and Russia.
