Test of missiles for deep sea strikes. OPV conducting these drills is good.
İ wonder if SİPER could intercept tactical ballistic missiles with software upgrades as Spyder Derby LR does.
İsmail Demir:
Our journey continues for the high-altitude ballistic missile interceptor system.
It will continue for another 5-6 years.
We are going there step by step.
Mr I. Sunnetçi gave very critical information about the range of the VWR missile.

He says, Our missiles "make shish kebab" at very loooooooong range. Please translate for non-Turks.
If Gökdoğan Fox-2 matches AIM-120B in range, then it is the longest ranged WVR missile in existence. Longer than the Sidewinders, longer than the MICA.Mr I. Sunnetçi gave very critical information about the range of the VWR missile.

Bro, AIM-120B is 50km. MICA is 60km.If Gökdoğan Fox-2 matches AIM-120B in range, then it is the longest ranged WVR missile in existence. Longer than the Sidewinders, longer than the MICA.
If its high off-boresight capabilities are on par with AIM-9X's, then it would be one hell of a beast
The new preference are the 'Peregrin' missile. More range, agile and much smaller. If Gökdoğan Fox-2 matches AIM-120B in range, then it is the longest ranged WVR missile in existence. Longer than the Sidewinders, longer than the MICA.

Bro, AIM-120B is 50km. MICA is 60km.
I got the 120B's range info from this site:The effective range of Bozdoğan approaches AIM-120B there is no error in his tweet. Bozdoğan(140kg) has an effective range of around 35 km. AIM-120B(152kg) has an operational range of 50km. There is not a single example where AIM-120B hit a target 50km away.
Ballistic range(useless)>Operational range(useless)>Effective range>NEZ (No escape zone)
The longest-range kill ever recorded with an AIM-120C5/C7 is only 45km (Turkish F-16 downed Syrian L-39 Albatros). AIM-120C5/C7 has an operational range of around 100km.
Bro, it could be that.I got the 120B's range info from this site:
ΑΙΜ-120 B, C-5, C-7 (ΑΜRΑΑΜ) - Hellenic Air Force

Serves me right. I won't use this kind of unreliable sources ever again
35 nautical mile is 64 something kilometers. Shouldn't make that much of a difference. But the thing is, for IIR missile like bozdogan I am not sure of the seeker would survive the heating beyond 60km.
It is just exhausting to see, how long these systems can takes from first test firing to reach combat readiness and active deployment.
Hoping to see Atmaca deployed on BN ships in the near future.
Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir announced that the unit price of the GÖKDOĞAN Missile is over 1 million dollars.
For US Air force yes, but when they export it they charge 3/4 millions or whatever they like.So more or less the price of an AMRAAM.
