Development and missile unit costs. It is calculated that using existing RF and IIR missiles and using them on different target sets is more cost-effective. You can't just put existing RF and IIR seekers together and call it a hybrid seeker. It is like developing a new seeker from scratch(well not exactly but it is a bigger effort than just putting them together). IMHO Roketsan will revisit this idea in the future.

Yes. They did the same thing while giving ranges of OMTAS (5+ km range) and UMTAS (10,5 km range for first variant and 16 for second one)

Guys did you noticed that Turkish missiles allways have low warhead weight while have more fuel capacity but their warhead impact is allways perfect on the target. I think Turkish defence industry have different technologies on fuel and explosive. we allways see that they have longer range and bigger explosive impact! our guys best make nice cocktails on the formulas

Warhead weight =/= explosive weight.

UMTAS is actually lighter than Hellfire and Brimstone. I feel like they emphasize penetration effect for mainstream warhead while reserving HE effect for other warheads.

UMTAS GM might match the weight of Hellfire/Brimstone considering the ROKETSAN's achievement with current L-UMTAS at 16 km. With a bigger warhead as well.

KUZGUN KY is a very fast missile leaving little time for MITL but UMTAS GM can present a larger window for user intervention with a lower speed considering that it will have wider wings.

I am glad we are going to have 2 alternative missiles for the short-medium range regime.

AKINCI can lift 3, maybe 4 ÇAKIRs at the same time. This means that 3 AKINCIs can keep a dozen cruise missiles in the air for more than 12 hours. Targets detected by naval air patrol and air force elements can be rapidly engaged. The integration of cruise missiles into UCAVs really seems to open a new perspective in the context of Naval A2/AD.

Akinci platform successfully fire and hit Çakır missile from 150km at 7km altitude.

Huge step to boast akinci's capabilites.

How stealth are our cruise missiles?
SOM series, KGK and HGK bombs are stealthy.
Atmaca and CAKIR rely on low flight characteristics and manoeuvrability.
Please feel free to add more. Those are what I could think of.
Level of stealth of our SOM series is supposed to be very good. If memory serves it was designed with more emphasis on stealth.
HGK and KGK were derived from JDAM and JSOW. They are also designed with stealthy characteristics.

I think the main point of Cakir is its swarm profile with multiple missiles pulling 12g in a coordinated manner in their terminal phase to overwhelm the ship's defence.

Thank you. I low-key want Atmaca-2 and Çakır-2 to be stealthy like NSM.
IMO, an ideal cruise missile would be a stealthy YJ-18.
When it comes to cruise missiles, stealth is the future.
