Which is actually an UAV, designed to attack designated locations the way cruise missile does, and able to return by terrain-hugging. Terrain hugging may not be possible if size increases.
The size of aircraft would be multiplied by 1.5 or 2.0 to make it able to return (to storage more fuel), larger wings too.
This has been thought,i can assure you. MIUS is actually the same, just it doesn't follow the path of a cruise missile but more of an aircraft's.
Wouldn't be possible to use from submarines-surface assets.
Useful if only intended to be used from homeland, but again as complex as an aircraft and will diverge the commonality thus will cause more operational costs.
I don't want it to return, I want it to have the maximum range and a sizable payload. It is like making an intercontinental air breathing missile on available resources. It can be launched from land, from an LHD or an aircraft Carrier.

If it not bound to return, then wouldn't it be better to make the missile itself able to cruise over long distances and deliver multiple warheads capable of GPS guidance?
Maximum ferry range of F-16 is 2000+ miles, in my opinion given such a size, still not capable of being a Inter-continental cruise missile while not carrying any weapons.
Operation range with 4 x 500 kg bombs is 200+ miles, which would be 400+ without return. 4 Tomahawks are still cheaper and has longer range, less detectable, canister launched and logistic-wise easier to handle.

Your discussion might end up with unmanned stealth bomber.

F16 has a lot of drag with its big wings and a large cross section. A super-cruise capable engine will have a better mileage with smaller wings and overall smaller cross-section. I happened to start sketching such a missile, it will be a basic thing just to show the shape.

I made my point, whatever you design should be more feasible than a unmanned delivery vehicle + cruise missile combo, more feasible in terms of cost, more feasible in terms of abilities, also as it is supposed to be an interim solution, should be ready for serial production in 5 years.
If it fits these, then it is amazing.

It can be made today.
It is simply a cruise missile with larger fins/wings that will enable taking off from the ground at higher speeds than a plane. And it will use a readily available turbofan engine. There must be a balance of speed/range/payload. Mach 3 speed and 5k+ km range is starting point. From there a reasonable payload capacity and wing size can be worked out. I believe something beyond our current capabilities can be made in a couple of years if Roketsan and TAI put their minds to it.

Imagine a missile you can refuel in flight, LOL. Refuel from TFX to Zafer missile. I've got the basic structure sketched to 60% already.
if you want to refuel, why not fire it from where you are going to refuel it?)) the whole point is not to risk those jets

Refueling is optional and the missile is heavy and can not be carried on another plane but its fuel can possibly be topped off in flight but I am not sure at what highest speed it can be done. Refueling can extend the range perhaps another 1000 km.

what is that? can you show it here?
Basically Tariq is a standoff kit made in UAE under license from Denel. There was an extension jet engine at IDEX 2019. I heard range was something below 300 km for obvious reasons(MTCR). I assume it would be cheaper than a full on cruise missile.

I really dig the Saab+Boeing GLSDB, I'm pretty convinced that these and possibly Mortar launched bombs could be perfect for countering MIUS, UAV and the likes.

ROKETSAN - Stand-Off Ammunition 'SOM'

Low radar coverage, big impact: SOM!
Stand-off Ammunition SOM used from air to ground against land and mobile naval targets, outside the range of air defense missile systems:
Particle-effect warhead,
Earth referenced navigation system,
🚀with automatic target detection and low visibility features
In all circumstances, at the disposal of our country!
