Q

10 Tayfun's and 8 SOM very nice news. I wonder what is the production time frame for a package like this? I would hope for a week but a more realistic guess could be a month if not little more
Production quantity depends on how much the army orders if they order large quantities over a long period then production increases. Only then can roketsan invest in its serial production.

Last month Baykar and Roketsan carried out a test firing of a missile named Eren.
This is a very important turning point in slower UCAVs being used in air to air and air to ground combat from stand off distances and a game changer against kamikaze type drones as well as any low flying slow subsonic air breathing platforms with it’s indigenous jet engine.

Eren has shown that it has high precision. With over 15 minutes flight and more than 100km range it can be used against any moving or stationary armoured or non armoured ground targets as well as low flying UAVs including kamikaze drones. Although a price has not been set, it is specifically designed to be economically used against cheap drones as well as more expensive aircrafts.

Akinci finally found it’s ideal stand off attack missile that it can carry in large numbers.

We look forward to it being delivered to TSK in sizeable quantities soon as well as large export numbers of TB3 and Akinci UCAVs.

Eren is a brilliant addition to our arsenal, they didn't mention it but if it can also be used with TB2 and Anka (and I don't see why it shouldn't be) they just turned into standoff range hunters.

But here one must ask: what is the unit cost of an Eren and a Shahed-like drone?

If the missile costs more than 40–50,000 USD, then it is an expensive proposition, not to mention the additional costs of launching the drone, logistics, maintenance and arming an Akinci or Aksungur drone for a Mission.
A Shahed-like ultra low-cost drone with conventional and commercial GPS and dual-use chips and engines from China, and elsewhere might cost as little as 15–25,000 USD.

Only other viable solution is a Gökdoğan, Bozdoğan, or similar a2a missiles as US an other allies were using. Alternatively even more expensive Patriot missiles.

Eren will be a great deal cheaper than any of those. Also you need to take in to account the fact that if you don't intercept those kamikaze drones they will either kill personnel and/or destroy a radar or defence system worth few hundred million dollars. Can you put a price on our personnel?
Besides, Shreds are estimated between 25 to 40k dollars.

i still don't get how they managed to make it so light weight even MAM L weighs about 21 kg and thats just a laser seeker ,Warhead and battery.

We don't know which turbojet engine they use in this missile. But at 16cm diameter it is probably a really cheap 15 to 20 minute life expectancy engine like TEI TJ35 with a 130mm diameter and just over 3kg in weight that develops 180N thrust.

What about Sungur ? I think Sungur would be more suitable for threats like the Shahed drones. A small pod with Sungurs doesn’t weight that much and can be installed on every UCAV we have, and would be still cheaper than Eren.
