One missile that TÜBİTAK Sage has ben developing and has not had a lot of media coverage, has been the KUZGUN missile.
This is a modular missile with multiple versions and uses.

  • Modular Warhead (Particle, Thermobaric, General Purpose, Penetrating Warheads)
  • GPS, INS guidance options
  • High sensitivity and low half damage
  • Low operation cost as guidance and warhead can be determined according to the type of operation
  • High warhead efficiency
  • Modular wing option (common basic design for swing / fixed wing, thrust / non-thrust variants depending on operational range requirement)
  • GPS independent guidance options (INS and LAB, A-INS and Infrared Seeker, data link, mmW Radar)
  • Multiple Transport and Drop Off
It can be used; Air-Ground, Ground-Ground, Water-Above-Water
With guidance choices of; INS, INS / GPS, (common interface and ease of integration for LAB and IIR)
Warhead is also flexible; Special Design 25-60kg (depending on head type)
Target accuracy; <1-10 m (CEP) (Depends on Seeker and Guidance Type)
1.8 metres long , approximately 100kg in weight and depending on the propellant system it’s range can vary; It can be dropped from 40000 ft with a KGK (hgk-er) kit and reach a target 110 km away. Or it can be at the front end of a solid fuel rocket engine.

Kuzgun is a new generation product family that is modular, low-cost, suitable for multi-use, high strike sensitivity and low side damage in terms of warhead, range and guidance method to meet tactical guided ammunition needs.
Kuzgun can be fired from land batteries, ships and air platforms. Kuzgun can be used against military units, light armored vehicles, mobile targets, military camps, mobile surface targets and shelters.

I hope we see wire guided variants of OMTAS, UMTAS soon
with coming latest technology such as laser warning systems that immediately gives the exact location of those targeting personal and shoot them , those systems will be absolute.. Turkish tanks already installed those systems.. Turkey does the right thing, you need to produce something that has future.. you dont want to see it not working in only 10 years when every country will have it.. as every country has hundreds of tanks, this is the first system they would probably buy for their army in the future as its critical for tanks..

I am expecting to see longer range new missiles (helicopter mounted) to be revealed in following months (IDEF) but They are being developed for Navy. If Land forces request some, They will easily be integrated on Land force’s attack helicopters as well.

I’m still thinking that OMTAS’s range should be increased to 5.5 km ASAP like Spike-ER and Kornet.
On the other hand the rivals of Karaok (i.e. Javelin, Spike-MR and MMT) have been increased to their range to around 4 km. But, 2.5 km is fine for start.
Cida should be comperable to Carl Gustav’s laser guided munition’s range (I couldn’t remember exact value now)
All these points are very important in marketting. The volume of trade in the World is high in these weapons. We need money.

its not designed for the same reason i said above.. NLOS works with radio waves, which means unless its not against terrorists, those radio waves will be jammed. just imagine that almost every kirpi vehicle you see in Syria has the Jammer mounted on it, thats what most of the countries will do in case of war in the future. Basically Turkey doesnt want to invest on projects that could not be used in the future or could be used as bad PR against its military technology in the future..
on the other hand, against those terorist and low level armed group you can also use cheap Mam-l ;)

Fiber optic data link cannot be jammed unlike other guidance systems. Its not an old system. Spike Family, French MMP etc. have fiber optic guidance capability.

If jamming was such a concern, we wouldn't be seeing air-to-air or surface-to-air missiles using such RF data-links for mid-course guidance. Yes, it can be a problem, but likely jamming the frequencies that the missiles use to communicate on is going to lead the adversary to jam themselves too. The fact that Turkey owns it's own data-links and can change the operational frequencies more readily, is key to seeing more missiles being data-linked with R/F.

Cida was removed from Roketsan's website, as well as from the general product catalog. However, when you search on Google, you can reach the old product brochure. At IDEF 2019, the deadline for the project's delivery was called the end of 2019. If there is no mistake, I think the project can be revised.

Good, Cida was a waste of time. Yatağan makes more sense.

Laser guided TANOK will crack all jammings.

A system like CIDA is essential for urban conflicts. However, it was heavy. Not only CIDA, but also a mini system to be developed over KARAOK, similar to Mini Spike. Because CIDA may not be sufficient against light armored systems.

Heavy, bulky and far too complex of a missile for urban warfare. Yatağan is smaller, can be fired from readily available 40mm grenade launchers, more of them can be carried and simpler thus cheaper to make more of.

Cida made no sense when Yatağan was already being developed.
