In low numbers.How many?
For the first ship, it will probably be Asfat.TF2000 is a done deal, it needs no SSIK to commence. In fact, going on at preliminary design stage since last (2022) June.
The company that will conduct "main contractor" duties for detail design ( production design) and prototype construction (first hull) is also selected (through a rumored, however, not existing tender process). Since there is a time until preliminary design stage is concluded, it needs no SSIK at the moment.
The two antennas (radomes) of the total six complement the ARES-2N (V)2 ESM system below the radar.I think its six antennas with very broad range of radio waves.
I class designed with Smart-S Mk2, Mk 41 VLS, and AREAS-2NC in mind but due to the Mk 41 VLS embargo things get delayed. The first I class should have been delivered by now before the TCG Anadolu. Mk 41 is replaced with MIDLAS VLS, Smart-S Mk2 is replaced with Cenk-S AESA but AREAS-2NC stayed the same because as far as I know mast needs a redesign or EMI/EMC tests had to be done again. I don't know the latest info but it seems like AREAS-2NC will be used at least for the first ship. BTW it is a modified AREAS-2NC system with extra antennas that cover a wider bandwidth compared to the vanilla system.Happy New Year everyone!
I am making some infographics and I would like to ask why the AREAS-2N ECM system equips the LHD but it was not considered suitable for the Istif frigates and instead they will be fitted with the less capable AREAS-2NC (four antennas)? I have seen also maquettes from IDEF 21 where Istif-class is fitted with both AREAS-2NC and AREAS-2N which doesn't make sense.

According to I Sunnetci, the I-Class‘s first ship has been furnished with Oto-Melara Super Rapid main gun.Happy New Year everyone!
Maybe it is due to ammunition more then the gun itself?According to I Sunnetci, the I-Class‘s first ship has been furnished with Oto-Melara Super Rapid main gun.
That means, we have opted not to install the indigenous MKE 76/62mm gun as previously mentioned. That means Italians’ low price offer to supply this gun has been accepted.
So the navy still thinks that the Super Rapid is superior to the local one; which means we need to produce one that is at least on par.
MKE currently produce a range of various shells for the indigenous gun. They vary from standard version of particle effect to HE-PD, to HE-VT , to HE-IR. They were also at the last stages of GPS and laser guided version of the shells last year this time.Maybe it is due to ammunition more then the gun itself?

Super rapid fires at 120 rounds p.m.
MKE fires at 80.
thats irrelevant, like a machine gun is firing rate 2000 rounds. You will not engage that much round, lifespan of your barrel will faster worn out. How is our 76mm doing it when it is hot, how accurate is it? That kind things matter not 120 round pm.
76mm SR was ordered long before MKE 76mm cannon. The last 3 ships will have MKE 76mm cannons.According to I Sunnetci, the I-Class‘s first ship has been furnished with Oto-Melara Super Rapid main gun.

İs it possible that 76mm one with STRALES guidance systems and Vulcano ammunitions?Maybe it is due to ammunition more then the gun itself?
Ordered , but delayed in delivery as part of EU’s stance against us in East Med stand off with Greece. Could that be the reason and incentive that we quickly produced our 76/62mm version?76mm SR was ordered long before MKE 76mm cannon. The last 3 ships will have MKE 76mm cannons.
