Dear Is there any news about LEVENT ? Will we see it soon?
I would be pleased to hear something about that too, i think they will commence development before this year ends so that it will reach to the TTHB (TN-FAC) project.

President Erdoğan: "We can take many steps together again in shipbuilding. I hope we will take joint steps with Russia including submarines."

What can Russia contribute besides naval engines? Our shipbuilding industry reached a point where every naval vessel can produced indegeniously.

Please no.. most of the partners in business are western -excluding the local ones- (also such for the Milden) and there is a well established partnership stemming from decade or longer ago. Once in awhile he should leave some matters to experts, unlike he did in past conducted negotiations with his own team instead of the experts from SSB, not to some people located in his inner circle who doesn't know a dime about things. Again he should bring some experts from SSB for such negotiations, not some people who is only interested in filling their pockets by brokering.

Switching to Russia will only mess things up, diminish contribution of the Turkish industry and engineers, and result in direct purchase or construction in a Turkish private shipyard's closed hangar and Russian only personnel taking place in design and construction (also will be classified by Russian Lloyd, not the Turkish Lloyd).

Plus it will expel all of the western partners that also contributes to other Naval projects.

Plus, a big no for the Russian submarines for many reasons of being not compatible to TN in terms of standards and quality.

"Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan: Almanya Reis serisi denizaltı işini biraz gevşekten alıyor. Almanya eğer bu işte bize verdiği sözü yerine getirmezse yapacağımız iş, alternatifleri bulmaktır. Alternatifler tükenmez."

Does he even know we are making them under license?

We need to diversify our supply chain of technologies and not rely on sources governed by the same minds.

Russians are a big no for everyone in the business, except few who merely want to make profit without eyeing national goals. There are much better and reliable partners who can align with us with ease, in the asia particularly.
Even China is a better and safer partner than Russia.

Japanese / Chinese / Korean are far more advanced in ship-submarine design and shipbuilding industry.
If you are referring to SSN / SSBN, that is true but again it is not a concern for Turkish Navy.

Well not that much on shipbuilding, if you are referring to sub-components (electronics) it is something else but i can tell vice-versa, US more leans on Korea-Japan to support their shipbuilding industry in last 2 decades, you can't measure amount of jobs they are redirecting to offices in there.
They have been at some point and faced shortages in the naval architects and revived some closed departments.
I shall further note, Russia leans on Europe more than Korea-Japan relies on US.
I am open to discuss this by all means in any other dedicated thread, would love to see your base point on making those quick-claims. I am in the industry for a decade or longer i haven't seen any signs of this claims.

M5 seems to have analyzed the TN building plans. "Ready on the spot" FFBNW strategy. Aparently the OPV are going to be the guinne pigs of this project.

So I hope we'll hear more about the 12 Ada I read about somewhere in this forum.
It could be more than FFBNW; more like the hot-install like US tried at some point.
The same spot can be used for different guns-platforms readily, certified beforehand, installed-tested and ready to use in a few days.

Would I wrong in assuming that the "spots" would be sealed responsibly. Or will the vessels come with a bare minimum installation so it'll be a "swap to a different platform" ?

e.g. Ada class comes with STAMP is swapped out with LEVENT or such.
